In the past five months or so, the forum has seen three CM's step down and now I have become number four to do so. I'll point out here that one has re-whitened, so yay for that!
Now each one before me had his or her own personal reasons for doing so and I will not speak to that because it's not my place. Each of them also chose to do so without announcing it or explaining it to yall and they certainly had the right to choose not to. I also have that right but I feel a little guilty about this so I am posting this thread more as an apology than as an explanation.I stepped down because it seemed the right course of action. Now of course there's a bit more to it than that, but the story of how I arrived at that conclusion would require discussing things which are not mine to discuss. So we will leave it at that: I felt it was time to step down.
And while my conviction has not wavered, I cannot say that I am without regrets for that is not true. I do have one regret. And that is that I did all this without thinking of how it would look to y'all or make y'all feel. The CM's have served as the highest level of leadership since Jay's arrest and in a sense are the symbols that the forums will not crumble into chaos without him, and then one-by-one in a rather rapid succession, the leaders you're supposed to look up to drop out of that position with little or no explanation, and I'm sure for some of you that had to be upsetting. And then I become yet another leader to do so without any warning. For that I am sorry, and I do regret making waves.
But it allow me to make it perfectly clear, that while I feel it is no longer best for me to serve on the Council, I still care deeply about HW and plan to lead just as actively (if not more so) as I did in the Council. Many of the things people usually came to me for as a CM I am still perfectly capable of handling as an ML. The only difference being that if you want an inside scoop on Jay or the Council's plans, I'm no longer a valid source. And if you were planning on using me and my position to surreptitiously take over the site, well I am sorry, but your plans have failed and you will now have to find another CM to bend to your will.
