NaNoWriMo approaches! The forums divide into people who are doing NaNo and people who are not. People who are doing NaNo divide into pansters, those easy-going beings who make up their plot as they write, and plotters, beings who need outlines, character sheets, world maps, and a theme analysis. Plotters divide into plotters who know exactly when they are planning exactly what and plotters who are stuck in the muck.

Pre-NaNoWriMo Preparation and Brainstorming Chat Session

We shall meet, share what we have developed (or not) so far, sympathize with one another's woes, bounce ideas off other talented HolyWorlders, and make MASSIVE PROGRESS. We shall steal and modify the Boyscouts's motto. Be prepared... for the arduous month ahead!

When: October 21, 7pm-10pm Central Standard Time That should give you enough time to start planning and get stuck while leaving enough time before NaNo to finish more in-depth planning inspired by the brainstorm session.

Where: Holy World's Fantasy Chat Room As in on the fantasy forum, not as in a chat room that doesn't exist.

Who: Everyone Even if you don't need help, even if you are a panster, we plotters-in-the-muck would greatly appreciate your ideas.

If I remember (I hope there'll be reminders posted somewhere as it draws nearer), I intend to attend, whether or not I'll be attempting NaNoWriMo this year, and even though 8-11 EST might be somewhat late for "a school night."

I'm relying on the dear sponsoring Constable for the reminders. ;) I agonized over hitting a timezone sweet spot. Never tried to find a time for a cross-timezone event like this before! I figured that the people for whom the time overlapped with dinner or went too late could make it at some point, even if they couldn't be present all three hours.

Well, my mom's current rule is that no one is allowed on the internet after 5:00. :P But I'm sure if I explained it was for NaNo...

Oh. :P Well...I hope it works out since it's for NaNo. If not...maybe a few of us skypers can have another plot planning session.

I'll try to come, it sounds like a lot of fun. :D Though I can't make any promises. I don't even know if I'll have internet then. :P

But if I do, I think we'll still be in Eastern Time, so that's a time where I could probably come...

Hi y'all, I know at the moment most of you are maybes. That's OK. :D I just wanted to remind everyone the chat session is tomorrow evening. By the way, I think it is a great idea for those who like the idea of a brainstorming session but can't make it to come up with an alternate chat/skype date.

Rose and I were talking and decided we wanted another plot party (this on skype) for those that either didn't make it to the first one, or those that want to come do more development/help others do so. :D
The second pre-nano party will be on skype tomorrow (Monday, 22nd [in the western hemisphere anyway] of Oct. 2012 A.D.).
You'll have to be a contact of either Rose or I on skype, so PM either of us if you are not already one of our contacts. :D

I think it would be cool to have a mini-planning party every day in chat, maybe sometime in the afternoon (1 PM EST?). That way, people could come whenever they felt like it. :D

Sounds good to me, the only concern is if people are in chat that want to chat...not plot novels. But if everyone that wants to do it is on HWHF or HWSF we could jack one of those chatrooms since they are less likely to have normal chatters. :D

She doesn't do bribery well. :P She thinks the internet is evil...

Maybe if we plan to do plot development first, I could convince her to let me in for an hour or so? Since she knows I missed it last night because of bedtime.
