Greetings, I have gotten many requests to allow members to upload their own avatars. I have replied in the negative so far for many reasons. Avatars are very important to the atmosphere of a forum. The atmosphere of this forum plays a large part in its attractiveness, home like nature, and in how mature our posts are. If avatars become flashy and shallow, it will clash with the focus of the forum. But after much deliberation, I decided to trust my community with the ability to upload your own avatars. The goal is to help you contribute to the forum in a new way, and to help mold your own presence here. Therefore, I added that permission, and added the following paragraph to the rules: Quote: 3.6 Users are allowed to upload their own avatars. However, extreme discretion is advised. The forum team can remove avatars at their own discretion. To avoid this, make sure that your avatar is not only modest, discreet, chaste, and pure (elves have to be modest too), but subdued in color and composition, so that they do not detract from the quality of the 'medieval' like atmosphere here. Abstract avatars are preferred. If you are not sure about an avatar, ask a member of the forum team. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. |

Thank you!! I hadn't gotten around to making an essence map for requesting a custom avatar yet, but had a premade avatar handy that I use on another forum... Leila Clemons on Christianfilmmakers.org drew my avatar (and graciously allowed me to use it as such), I used GIMP to crop it and add the text. |

Guess that means White Raven and I will be in less demand. Oh well, I'll still enjoy working on the few projects that I have |
