Hey, all! We've decided to provide written transcripts of all the Holy World's podcasts!

To do this we need ordinary people to listen to the podcasts and write down every word. Write it out as a script form:

Katie: This is what a line of dialogue should look like.

Person: and this is what the next line look like....

List of Transcribers:
BushMaid
Elly of Zoriah
Aemi

List of Podcasts:
#1: The Vision of Holy Worlds - BushMaid
#2: Christian Fantasy with Robert Treskillard - Elly of Zoriah
Bonus Episode: Intro to Triterrus - In Progress
#3: Merlin's Blade and Arthurian Fantasy
Bonus Episode: Communication Catalyst and Implementing Triterrus Roles
#4: Networking and Building a Platform w/ Robert Treskillard
#5: Story ideas with James Somers
#6: Publishing Methods with James Somers
#7: Diane M. Graham of The New Authors Fellowship
#8: Grace Bridges, CEO of Splashdown Books
#9: Keven Newsome, author of Winter and founder of the New Authors Fellowship
#10: Holy Worlds Convention Recap - Aemi

To volunteer to help transcribe simply post below. You can also request a specific episode to work on, or you'll be assigned the first one on the list. I'll update this list with the transcribers, who's working on which episode and what ones are finished.

Please attach the finished transcript as a .doc file. Feel free to spell check each other's transcripts.

When all the back episodes have been finished this project will be closed. All transcribers will be put on a rotating list to work on new episodes. I'll explain that system when we get to it in more detail.

*An episode marked "In Progress" means that someone has already done part of the work, so that you'll be building on their work rather than working from scratch.

You can put me down as a transcriber. :D I go to the library once a week, and spend an hour at lunch on a computer, I hope to use this time for transcribing as the new podcasts come out, but until then I'll do my best to transcribe what I can at home. I'm going to start with the first one, unless someone else has decided to do it. :D

Hurricane, could you put me down too? Thanks. :D

I'll take the Intro to Triterrus, I believe, and start today.

Question! I'm transcribing this word for word and putting the punctuation in the best I can for the sake of the reader, but because we don't talk exactly as we write, a lot of the sentences have far too many "and"s, sentences that are actually fragments, or sentences that are far too long. Just wanted clarification: Am I transcribing these just as they are spoken, or should the grammar be corrected for the sake of the reader?

(I'm also excluding all the "Um"s and "Ah"s, hope that was ok...)

Right, you can sanitize it to make it more readable in written form. :)

Please take out the ums and ahs. :beg:

As for the rest, it does need to be readable, so readability comes over authenticity.

I might do #2 instead, I'm a bit stuck on the bird part because the quality is low and six people giggling and laughing all the time makes it quite hard to hear.

'kay, how far in are you? (Time placer.) I'll move your name to #2 and change that one to an in progress status. If someone wants to take over one that's in progress than you'll need to send them your existing file, so they don't have to do that part over again. If you decide you want to finish it, that's fine too. :D

Err. Somewhere around a minute, there's a bird chirping and all of them lapse into laughs and giggles.

Thanks, Hurricane. :D

There's a bird chirping? *goes to listen *

By the way, if anyone needs help with distinguishing between voices, I am happy to help on that one. I can recognize all the girl's voices. It could be difficult, if you aren't accustomed to mine, Mama Raven, E, or Celestria's voices. :P

This is proving a lot harder than I thought it would be. I'm going away this weekend so I don't think I'll be able to get the transcript to y'all till next week. I think the next one I'll do, I'll download and slow right down in Audacity, and see if that makes it any easier.

Oh, Katie, we have an 11th Podcast now. Amanda Davis, Author of Precisely Terminated. So we could add that to the list, too, although it has not been edited, yet.

I've been working on mine (episode #10), and I have transcribed about nineteen minutes worth of it. Yes it's hard, but it is fascinating how different written English is from spoken English.

I'm fairly new to the HW podcasts, but recently I started listening and I enjoy them. :D I'd like to help out. I'll like to do episode 12 with Luke Alistar, if it's not already done, since it's not on the list. If not I'll just take pretty much any of them that hopefully doesn't have to many people to make it difficult.

I've been working on it sporadically, and I have about 20 minutes transcribed. You guys can talk a lot in 20 minutes, as I have discovered.

I'm putting the names in the transcript as Airianna, Jay, and Luke. Is that fine?

Okay, long story short, I'm having a really hard time with my transcription. For one thing, an important element in my setup (the speakers) has failed me, making the job very difficult and uncomfortable (the headphone cord isn't long enough, so I have to remain in a twisted position for long periods of time).
Then, also, there are too many voices! You had, what, six people on there? And, since I never hear y'all's voices otherwise, I'm having a hard time telling y'all apart at times. The job would be better done by someone who was actually there during the podcast recording, and is familiar with the different voices.
Is anyone available? I'm about halfway done with it. :beg: And I'm sorry. When I get the speakers fixed, maybe I can take on a different one.
