Post subject:  The Avatar Contest!
Welcome to the 1st Avatar Contest!

It starts today (March 28th), and ends on April 14th. People may enter avatars (They must follow the avatar rules), of an unlimited number, and at the end of the timeframe, judges will determine who's avatar is the best. The picks will be for quality, color and contrast, plus creativity. Prizes are for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place; those three people get to pick a novel donated by some authors from HolyWorlds!
The three sites will be judged separately, as Historical Fiction and Sci-Fi are extremely different from each other and Fantasy. Themes are available as a suggestion. :)

Questions? Note, all avatars must be no larger than 145x145 pixels. The avatars will be uploaded to the gallery after contest.

NOTE: All submissions must adhere to HW rules for avatars

  1. All avatars should glorify God. If something would be inappropriate to post in the forums, it is inappropriate to post graphically as an avatar.
  2. No humanoid forms. Period. That means no android robots, no knights in armor, no men, no girls, no elves, no dwarves, no nothing. The only part of a human that you are permitted to include in an avatar is a human hand or a human eye.
  3. No animations or clip art (meaning flat, cartoony art).
  4. Avatars must fit within an abstract essence, maintaining a low key profile in the site. They should not be distracting.
  5. No promotions of other sites, unless approved specifically by Sir Emeth Mimetes or a member of the Council.
  6. Avatars should be in png, jpg, or gif format.

Also, here is a list of possible theme suggestions for inspiration. Purely optional, of course, no pressure. I chose themes that could be approached from a wide variety of angles so as to be useable for all three forums. Have fun!

You can put it in whichever contest you want, HWF/HWSF/HWHF.

It's much easier/faster to make them when I don't have an essence map,
so I'll probably contribute several.

Preferably 145px by 145px, but you can do less if you want to. That is the maximum on avatar sizes.

Don't forget that you can also do Sci Fi themed ones, and Historical themed ones; but they do have to be submitted on the Sci fi and HF threads, not over here. :)
