Post subject:  Text Edits for the Homepage

I've noticed a few text-related things that should/could be changed on some of the pages on the main site. Here they are by page:

"About Us"/"Bios" page:
- All the website links for each bio include the http:// part of the url. I think this looks a bit tacky...couldn't it be shortened to just the website (eg: siremethmimetes.wordpress.com)?

- On Hannah's bio, some of the words are in bold type. However, none of the other bios have bold type, so it looks a bit out of place.

- On Brendan's bio, it's stated that he is the newest Council Member. Is this still accurate? Also, his HWF username needs to be updated.

- Carissa's rank should be updated on her bio since she's now a CM.

- Aubrey's forum usernames need to be updated on her bio.

- The first sentence in Seer's bio feels like a run-on. I think the sentence could benefit from being split to read something like this: "Seer is the leader of our Marcher Lords. He acts mostly as an advisor, and mentor to the rest of the council." The comma before "and" is unnecessary. Also, it's unclear if "the council" refers to the White People or the Yellow People. I'm assuming it's the White People, but I would expect the c to be capitalized then.

- The fourth sentence in Katie's bio is a fragment. Perhaps it could be merged with the third sentence?

- On Tim's bio, there should be a "the" before "Holy World Podcast" in the second sentence. (And "World" should be made plural.)

"Projects" page":
- Is the listed release date for Debugger correct? Right now it's listed as "estimated to be complete in Spring, 2012". I thought I was on the email list and I haven't heard a thing about the release date. :?

- This isn't really a necessity, but I was thinking that it could look really neat to have the cover image of the Poetry Book next to its description, and then perhaps have the image be a link to the Smashwords page.

Aaaand...I don't know how set-in-stone the Visions page is, but I'll risk getting in trouble and poke at it anyways. ^_^

"Vision: page:
- In the "Equip" paragraph, the phrase "extra, back-breaking labor" sounds exaggerated and overly dramatic. I'd say cut at least the second adjective, though I think it would be best to cut both of them.

- In the "Using niche media genres" paragraph, I think the phrase "throw the baby out with the bathwater" is rather trite. It feels out of place in the otherwise cliche-free writing.

Well, I hope I haven't overstepped any bounds in poking at some of these things. If I have, I apologize in advance. :x I'm just trying to help keep the site looking spiffy. :D

Thank you for that, Evening. :D

Now we just need someone who can make a decision and perhaps implement those suggestions.

I'll take the vision page up with the Council, Wren. The rest doesn't need discussion, it just needs doing. Thank you for taking the time to write that up. :D

I have this, too.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Xjy ... 0CKEE/edit

Some of the edits are going to be duplicate, but that has a whole lot more. :P

If someone wants to sync the two, and then whoever's editing can work off the Google doc, and delete each item as it's completed, in case he stops half way through and the task is picked up by another.

Katie you're amazing! *hugs list* I will work on these, and add the vision page edits to it :) The rest of the ones on this page have been done, so this thread can be archived or modlified somehow =)
