Okay, maybe convention isn’t the right thing to call it. Especially when it’s more like HW meet up/celebration/family vacation/weekend writer retreat.

No. I’m not joking. :D

My hopes were we could meet up one weekend in late June/early July and camp out for a weekend, get to know each other, talk about random fantasy writer things, create our own spoof of a medieval tournament, have a bonfire, perhaps even a speaker.

This get together would be held on my turf deep in the woods in the middle of nowhere - perfect for a gang of crazy fantasy writers like ourselves. And I was serious when I said this would be like a weekend retreat or a family vacation. Food will be provided and with the property being nestled in the heart of Amish country, it’d make the perfect vacation spot if anyone were to come from a farther distance. If camping out in tents isn’t to your liking there are campgrounds nearby with cabins and even a retreat just down the road.

Oh, there’s one more thing I almost forgot! Silly me! It’s the highlight of the weekend and the one thing I have a feeling Inesdar is most excited about. To top off our epic weekend, there will be a medieval feast.

There’s a lot more details I haven’t figured out yet. I just wanted to get this posted and see if anyone would be able or interested in coming. What say you?

*sniffs * I doubt I will be in your area in June/July, but maybe...

It sounds awesome! So sad that I won't be anywhere nearby. :(

When, when, when??? I have family in PA so if I can get the money for gas I might actually be able to come! I need to know when though because I'll be out of the country for the end of June and half of July. Also, can we start a charity for socially deprived Holy Worlders? I have no money.

Oh! And if anyone is between NH and PA we could car pool, that would help me with expenses a little.

I want to be included in that charity.

I'm holding out for a Florida convention, which I might be able to make. :D

Car pool is a great idea, Rin! And I'd really love meet you! Let's see how many other people are interested, then we'll discuss dates. I'm pretty flexible myself, so it pretty much depends on you guys. :D

*sigh* Has anyone found Narnia yet? If so, perhaps there's a closet or something that has a transport beam.

Ooh! If it was the first weekend of July, there's actually a possibility I could come to some of it.

If this is during my annual Pennsylvania vacation (sometime this summer), I can and will go. Otherwise, definitely not. I live near Cincinnati and traveling all the way to Lancaster would take ~11 hours. :'(

I think the only way I could come would be the family decided to visit the grandparents in New York. If that was the case there would be a chance my family could drop in but not stay long.

So, I suppose there is a slim chance's slim chance that I could show up for an hour.

Hm... how come the north is where everyone seems to have relatives but nobody lives? Oh well, we'll figure out dates shortly. *makes note of Raven's possible appearance if within that time*

Sadly, that's the only time I can't...

I think we're going to work around it so you can come, Rin. There's a few not as active HWers I want to send some personal invites to, then we'll see if we can figure out a date.

Hi, everyone! I know I haven't been in here in a while and we should have been picking dates by now, but there's been a good reason. Things have really been up in the air about my dad's job to the point that I don't even know if we'll be living here in PA. I'd hate to set dates only to find a few weeks too late that it wouldn't work, so I'm afraid to say I'm going to have to cancel this event.

*sniffs* Anyone have a tissue? :bawl:

:'( *hands Celestria a tissue box* I wasn't going to be able to come, being almost on the other side of the country, but it sounded like such fun. I hope y'all will get to hold a convention like this eventually. :'(
