On all three Holy Worlds forums, the ranks listed after Legend :: at the bottom of the index page are in alphabetical order. However, on Fantasy, after signing in, the order of the ranks changes. They are no longer in alphabetical order, nor are they entirely in order of rank--or at least not entirely in how the ranks are popularly perceived, though perhaps in order of how much official work is given to the rank. Since I'm curious about it, can someone explain how it came to be that way?

I would have thought that they would have gone in order of rank, but none of them are like that on the forums. |

It's like this on sci-fi too, only in a different random order.  EDIT: Same with HF, but yet again different. All three are in different orders, it appears. |

On the Sci Fi side it's in alphabetical order when you're logged in, I think. |

*rolls eyes* Not that complicated. We haven't gotten around to sorting groups by pecking order on the Science Fiction and Historical forums yet. They will be in the same order that it appears when logged in on Fantasy when you are logged in on the other forums as soon as we get to it. The reorganization is a way of letting people know who is in charge in order so to speak. Admin, Council, Marcher Lords, Moderators, Editors, Honor Roll Members, and Foundational Members is the order that shows who's highest and the most in charge and so forth. Make sense? |

That's what I thought it would be like, Hannah, but it goes in this order: Administrators, Editors, Foundational Members, Honor Roll Members, Marcher Lords, Moderators, The Council. So they're all jumbled up and not in rank order.

They are right on here. We can only change the rank order appearance when you log in. It can't be a permanent resort. The other two forums haven't been coded to resort yet. |

Ok, so why do the Marcher Lords, Moderators and The Council come after HRM then? |

* sigh * The order when you are logged in on HWF is this: Administrators, The Council, Marcher Lords, Moderators, Editors, Honor Roll Members, Foundational Members That is the correct order by rank. Otherwise, you get it in alphabetical order, like this on HWHF: Administrators, Bookkeepers, Foundational Members, Honourables, Professors, Scribes, The Council |

*ponders* I thought HRM was higher than editor, and thus would come before editor and after Moderator in that list... am I wrong? |

They are a separate rank from the hierarchy. |
