Post subject:  Avatar Submissions.
1. Users cannot upload their own avatars.

2. In the past, users have PMed their avatars to the appropriate person, who would then update it for them.

3. Systems change.

4. This list of people became increasingly out of date, until the people who could upload avatars were blank spaces, and the avatars were being sent to people who couldn't.

5. This resulted in mass confusion and chaos, and a distinct lack of new avatars.

6. We needed a new system.

7. This is the avatar thread. If you have an avatar you would like uploaded, please attach it to a post on this thread. Also remember to specify if you would like it to be set as public or private, or if you would like it uploaded to more forums besides this one.

8. If a person can upload on one forum they can also upload it to all the others.

9. The person or persons with technical capabilities will occasionally check this thread and upload any new avatars. When an avatar has been uploaded they will edit the users original post with a note reading "Uploaded."

10. Absolutely no comments will be permitted. If an avatar is not attached to a post that post will be moved. Please direct all admiration of new avatars to this thread.

11. Please direct any questions about avatar uploading, rules, and guidelines to this thread.

12. For your convenience the rules regarding avatars are as follows, found in Article 8, Section 3 of the forum rules.

8. Members are not permitted to upload their own avatars. All avatars must be approved and uploaded by a designated forum team member. A thread is provided for this purpose in the announcement section of each forum. Only avatars that match the following criteria will be permitted:

8.1. All avatars should glorify God. If something would be inappropriate to post in the forums, it is inappropriate to post graphically as an avatar.

8.2. No humanoid forms. Period. That means no android robots, no knights in armor, no men, no girls, no elves, no dwarves, no nothing. The only part of a human that you are permitted to include in an avatar is a human hand or a human eye.

8.3. No animations or clip art (meaning flat, cartoony art).

8.4. Avatars must fit within an abstract, medieval essence, maintaining a low key profile in the site. They should not be distracting.

8.5. No promotions of other sites, unless approved specifically by Sir Emeth Mimetes or a member of the Council.

8.6. Avatars should be in png, jpg, or gif format.

8.7. Avatars in the Private Gallery are reserved for their current bearers. Users seeking an avatar should search the other galleries or have their own uploaded as described above.

Final say goes to Sir Emeth Mimetes and the Council if there is a controversy over an avatar fits the above criteria or not.

I don't have a new avatar to upload, but I would like my current one to be moved to "Private." I created it around the time I joined, but I didn't have it moved to the "Private" gallery. If someone could please do that, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Noticed that Lady Ness's avatar was full sized artwork
and still had my graphics program up,
so I went ahead and resized it for her.

Here is the correct size for uploading.

No, it says down at the bottom of the thread that I cannot post new topics or attachments here. I went to the page for feedback/questions about the avatar system, but there it wouldn't even let me post a reply. Is this some kind of forum bug, or do I need approval from somebody?

On the other forums this happened, and the ACP needed changing slightly for Registered Users. We will need to wait for a Marcher Lord or Council Member. :) However, other Registered Users have uploaded attachments, so I'm confused as to why this is happening to a couple of people. :?

There appears to be something funky going on with all RU's permissions. Fidle and Reepicheep should be fixed now, though. :)
