Hey gang, One of you asked of me via pm whether we would consider making a separate forum or subforum for Cobha-related discussions outside the Magic thread. My question for you is, if I made said room would there be more than just myself and tsahraf who would actually comment on threads and post new ones in it? It would be a place where you could discuss the weird things about your worlds that could be described as magic because of their impossibility in this world. For instance threads about islands that float on the backs of turtles, cats that vaporize into thin air, cities that hover hundreds of feet in the air, houses where you walk on the ceilings instead of the floors, etc. would all go in this room while threads about how the Cobha of your world allows people group X to do blah blah blah, would still go in the 'Magic' room. At least that seems to be the idea as best I grasped it. It wasn't actually outlined, we'd been talking about posting threads where people could talk about the possible-impossibilities in their worlds and it was just kinda asked in passing if we were going to create a separate room from the 'Magic' forum for such discussions. I'm pretty sure someone's asked about this before, but my memory being what it is I am just not sure. So what do yall think, does this sound like a room you might be interested in posting in? |

My humble suggestion is to rename the existing room "Magic & Cobha" so that no one (especially the mods) has to decide on the difference between magic and cobha, which can be kind of blurred at times.  However, I would definitely be posting and commenting on cobha-related threads, wherever they end up. |

Cobha is what makes Avatar possible. I just figured that out. That makes me happy. I've spent considerable time attempting to work out the physics of Pandora... that's actually a very good definition of Cobha right there, methinks. But I'm with Phili on this subject. I don't think they need to be separated. |

I'm not sure I even know the meaning of cobha. I've barely gotten the past essence mapping. |

Like I suggested elsewhere, I think it would be good if we made the existing room 'cobha' and within it have a subforum called 'magic.' |

The thing is that cobha is a specific thing, and magic isn't. Magic has a dozen or more various definitions. Some of them make it exactly like cobha, some make it something completely separate with a wide gulf between them, and some make it so that there are various shades of overlaps. And there isn't even anything close to a 'normal' interpretation of it that we can rely on. Each person seeing a forum with 'magic' in the title will have a completely different guess about what might be in it. Which makes things difficult if we are going to try to 'separate' the two. I think just naming the forum 'Magic and Cobha' would be the best solution we can possibly manage. |

I'll be as active as ever in any Scholar's Hall room, whether it has the name "Cobha" "Magic" Magic & Cobha" "Magico y Cobha" or any permutation of their names and letters That is all to say that I would use it, which answers your question. |

Perhaps there should be a thread defining "cobha" stickied (or set as an announcement) in that subforum. |
