Book Review: Saved at Sea Saved at Sea is an old-fashioned book with good values which was masterfully written in the 1800s by Mrs. O.F. Walton. It was published much later, by the Lamplighter Rare Collector's Series and is only sold by them.. This 117-page book offers special appeal to boys, but also intrigues girls. It is the story of a lighthouse, standing tall and strong on the small island where Alick Fergusson lives with his grandfather. A neighbor, Jem Millar, lives on the island with his family also. Alick, Jem Millar, and Mr. Fergusson see a ship in distress one late night. They are able to save no lives except one bundle. They discover what the bundle is- a little girl. What happened to her parents? Alick develops a close relationship with the young toddler. But they are all wondering what happened to her parents. Alick soons finds a hymn about being on a Rock {On Christ the sold Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand}. He is confused, because he thought that the lighthouse was like a rock. Yet he finds the true Rock- Jesus Christ. Will Alick and his grandfather cope with the drastic death of someone they knew and loved? When someone mysterious shows up, will Alick recognize him? Find out in Saved at Sea! |

As I said via PM, the new version is great! Airianna loves it. Just to clarify, you're welcome to do as much editing and critique-gathering as you want. Just be warned that Airianna and I will ask you to post your piece here again, for a final polish, just before it goes up on the blog. But that needn't stop you from getting opinions on it now. |

Elly wrote: Alick soons finds a hymn about being on a Rock This should say 'Alick soon finds a hymn about being on a Rock. I love it, it tells you enough but not too much to spoil the plot. |
