Hello all!

Elanhil and I have been collaborating comics for the HW newsletter, and we have come across a problem: There are only so many events that have happened on HW that we know of to make into comics. Sooner or later, (and probably sooner) we are going to come up on empty for script ideas, and this is where we decided we would need some help.

This thread is for every HW member to post their ideas for what would make a good comic. Major events around the forum, specific Intro&Promo shenanigans, chat mishaps, you name it: if you think it would make a great comic, post it here!

Also on a side note, feel free to write your own script for the comics and post them here! For a guideline, all comics are eight frames long, (16 frames if you are including a "To be continued...") narrations must be as short as possible, (whole paragraphs of narrating text should be avoided) and be sure to describe what is happening in the scene.

Unfortunately, I am not artistically inclined, so no drawing of comics by me.

There was the time Chat (or was it the Chat Mishaps thread) turned into a circle. Someone might be able to shorten the quest-to-get-my-sinks-back into 16 frames.

I can't think of anything else at the moment but I'm very glad you started this.

What we're after is not drawings themselves, as I'll be creating the comic drawings myself. What we're specifically after is the stories to comicize.

I will keep that one in mind to do, since I was in it.

Ah, yes. Scripts are much appreciated... I'm able to turn any into scripts, though, that haven't been done by the submitter already...

How about the name game this morning? Just the part you were present for.

Right now it seems to be inside jokes. But maybe it can transition to having both.

How about when Riniel added marble floors to the chat room? (Not to mention the skates and sock dances!)

Or Bethith's promotion. That would be fun.

So far Arias, Elanhil and I are the only team of scriptwriter and artist. I think Vanya (or someone...) was hoping for a couple of teams to work together so that there was more than one kind of comic. So if you'd like to be an artist, that would be great. In fact, I think Reiyen offered to be a comic author on the other thread.


That was funny, but I think it would be difficult to relay into a comic. I could give it a go, though.


Good point. Like Jonathan said, at the moment we were rotating the comics around HW happenings. However any ideas for comics that revolve around outside fantasy author jokes would be great. The more ideas we have to kick around, the better!


Elly that sounds like it would make a good one. Would you like to try your hand at writing the script for it? I wasn't present so I don't know about that event.

Another good source of comic material I just realized (others probably already realized it, sorry I'm a bit slow...) is the Chat Mishaps thread. All the artists could probably scroll through the wealth of Chat happenings there and adapt the script themselves. I was thinking of trying my hand at Sui and Vanya's kitchen sink quest.

Ahh... comic stories... well I don't know how good I would be at dramatizing actual HW events, but I will get to work on some good jokes for HW comics... full of glomping, username dueling, archiving, and all manner of things that you never thought could be funny!

Yes! Yes! I would love to see that one! I can just picture one of BushMaids cute little stick figures looking at herself and going "Hey! I'm purple!" And BushMaid, you would get a chance to portray the Site Administrator himself.

*laughs* I was already envisaging how I would draw Emeth! I was thinking of giving him a red shirt with the Hebrew lettering on it.

I just realized the implication of "marble" floors. Previously I had thought that Chat was now filled with marbles. I was wondering how everyone got around.

You could make that longer if you'd like, Elly. A line for each square on the comic would help a lot. I think it would make a good one though!

Riniel: *turns on music* Come on! What are you waiting for?

*thinks* I suppose that would work. I have a hard time lengthening comic stories because I fear it'll be too long or something.

Are you guys still working on this project, Aussie, or would you like me to archive it?

Please archive it, Airi. I'm not sure if I'll have the time now to do this, but if I ever need the thread, I'll just look at it in the archives.
