I know that we don't ordinarily post prayer requests here on Holy Worlds, but I think that I can make an exception.

You may (or may not) know that Airianna, one of our Honor Role Members, has a baby brother with some health issues. Well, I got an email from her saying that her little brother went to be with Jesus last night. (I don't know many of the details and I want to respect her family's privacy, so you can read more about little Samuel on Airianna's blog as linked to on her profile page. She has also posted prayer requests for him on the Rebelution forums.)

Please pray for comfort for Airianna's family. We probably can't fully know what she is going through right now, but we can pray for her. I know that she and her family will appreciate it.

In Christ,
~ Evening

I wanted to thank you all for coming along side me and my family during this time. I haven’t been posting much the last few days, but I’ve been keeping tabs on everyone’s activities and reading lots of the pm’s many of you who have interacted more personally with me have sent. I won’t lie and say that we don’t cry, our most priceless gift has been returned to the Giver, but our desire has always been to celebrate Samuel’s life and the amazing miracle of his birth, this desire has not changed. Although we mourn our loss, we rejoice in his gain. Samuel’s life has not ended, and his life’s ministry will continue in each and every one of us whose life he touched.

Mercy Me has a song that mirrors a lot of the things that has transpired over our lives in the last 16 months of Samuel’s time here with us. The words spoke strongly to me, and will be sung at Samuel’s Celebration of Life (we do not plan on having a traditional funeral). They say,

I can count a million times
People asking me how I
Can praise You with all that I've gone through
The question just amazes me
Can circumstances possibly
Change who I forever am in You
Maybe since my life was changed
Long before these rainy days
It's never really ever crossed my mind
To turn my back on you, oh Lord
My only shelter from the storm
But instead I draw closer through these times
So I pray

Bring me joy, bring me peace
Bring the chance to be free
Bring me anything that brings You glory
And I know there'll be days
When this life brings me pain
But if that's what it takes to praise You
Jesus, bring the rain

I am Yours regardless of
The dark clouds that may loom above
Because You are much greater than my pain
You who made a way for me
By suffering Your destiny
So tell me what's a little rain
So I pray

Holy, holy, holy
Is the Lord God Almighty

These words are very poignant and true. We praise Him in the storm, knowing that He is the foundation that upholds us and the shelter that protects us.

I have posted a brief (although it is long) synopsis of Samuel’s life in the thread on the Rebelution that Evening has included above (it is on the second page). Please take the time to read it. This is why we celebrate the life of Samuel and try to remember that though our hearts are grief stricken at his loss, he lived a life as a good and faithful servant and is hearing the words ‘well done’. Many children at Samuel’s age are not called to be living sacrifices or a minister, Samuel was both.

Thank you for your prayers and support. This community of brothers and sisters in Christ has been a tremendous blessing to me. I’m still around; I’m just uncharacteristically silent for the time being.

May God bless,
Airianna/Kaitlyn

Airianna, I am sorry to hear of the passing of your brother. My grandfather passed away this past spring, so I understand, though not fully, how you are feeling. I am praying for your family.

When the darkness gets too overwhelming,
He gives me light to see.
When the burden gets too heavy,
He carries it and me.
When the storm becomes too much to bear,
He calms the restless sea.
Through all the trials that come in life,
My God is there for me.
