Greetings,

I just went and looked at the stats for the HW blog, and was surprised to see that we are getting lots of traffic (around a hundred or so a day)! This reminded me of the reason why I put the blog on there in the first place: to have a marketing tool to spread the word about us and what we believe about Christian Fantasy Fiction.

But we really haven't posted much over there. It is rather slow/dead. Not good.

The forum is doing great, but I believe that we need to transfer some of that energy over to the blog.

So I want to encourage y'all to post on the blog: frequently, regularly, and with good quality.

Do this by posting in the Blog room according to the instructions there. You can post short stories, serial fiction, articles on good structure, good style, good morals, book reviews, all kinds of things. They don't all have to be long, just good.

Those of you who post on the blog will receive a special rank (with a blue bar) to commend you for that service to the site. Remember, you are the ambassadors for this site, but more importantly, you are ambassadors for Christ.

Would it be useful for me to post my race-making system that I developed?

Yes! Go ahead and post a description of it in the Submissions room.

I would love to help, but I really don't know of anything that I could post. I have written articles before, but not many, and they aren't fantasy-related. I was planning on writing a short story (for my blog, originally), but it will still need quite a bit of work, and I'm stil trying to work on last year's NaNo novel.

However, I will be trying to think of something to write about, most likely an article or two about style or structure, or something of the like.

EDIT: I remembered earlier that I was thinking about trying to come up with some sort of allegory. I don't remember the reference, but I know there's a verse in the Bible that says something about how we don't battle against things seen, but against things unseen. I'll look it up later so I have it exactly.
It would be a short story (or maybe a story with more than one part... I'll have to see after I write it), so should I post that in the Submissions room after I finish it?

And I also wondered if an article about how races/characters should have flaws, so we can identify with them, etc. I wasn't sure if there would really be enough material to write an article about that, or if it would even be what you were looking for in blog submissions.


And is there some way to add the Holy Worlds blog to Google Reader (or anything so I can see when it is updated)? Since it didn't have a URL like the other blogs I follow (i.e. blogger, wordpress, etc.), I didn't think it would work, but I thought I would ask anyway. If not, that's fine, since I'm guessing most stuff will be posted in the Submissions room first anyway.

Anything you have written and want to post on the blog, you can post it in the submissions room. Concepts that are not written yet can be posted in here.

That would be a good reminder! I like that idea. You can take a simple message like that and flush it out into a modest post pretty easily.

Any blog will have a feed. It is powered by wordpress, even if it isn't hosted by them. There will be a little orange icon in the url bar that you can click on to subscribe. In the absence of that, you can go down to the bottom of the sidebar and you will see a link for Posts RSS. Click on that to subscribe.

You can count on me to help out. I plan on writing several short stories and maybe a serial fiction for the new world I'm developing. (In the iron age technological period, so that it's fantasy.)

Another thing to keep in mind is that we might take posts from the forum and post them on the blog (after permission from the poster and editing them of course).

Arias, the HW blog does work in Google Reader. Just copy the URL into the 'Add Subscription' field.
