I have a couple of questions.

1 How do I get a avatar uploaded?
2 Are drawings allowed for avatars?
3 What does marked out black bars on some text mean?
4 Are all the forums visible to non members?
5 Can I show art work on the forum that is not in line with avatar rules?

3. The black bars are hiding spoiler text; that is, text that reveals important things from books, movies, etc. that you might not want to know if you haven't read the book or watched the movie. However, some black bars are just there as a joke. You can remove a black bar by clicking on it.

5. I can't post a link for this one, since it is in a private area. In brief, the main rule is all art must uphold Christian values. For the full version, go to General Discussion, then The Arts Guild, then Basic Guidelines for Poets, Artists and Musicians.

Ok, I can help with a few of those:

1. the ML's have to do it for you.
2. No idea.
3. It means spoilers, if you click on the text, it will appear. You make it with this code [ spoiler ] [ / spoiler ] without spaces.
4. I'm not sure... I think so...
5. You can show artwork on this thread that is in line with the art thread rules:

First of all, thank you greatly Jonathan and Bushmaid for tackling these questions quickly and to the point. In an effort to save some of the reading through everything though, I am simply going to answer a few of the questions in a more pointed fashion here.

1. The simplest way to get your avatar uploaded is to PM either myself or Katie (Vanya Katerina Jaynin) with your avatar as an attachment. We will then ensure its adherence to the guidelines and resize it if necessary before placing it in the gallery for your future use.

2. Drawings are acceptable for avatars. Please be sure they fall within the guidelines though, as with all other kinds of avatars.

4. Tales of the Realm, The Fireside, the subforums in the Realms and Beyond, as well as the Art Guild are the only forums not visible to all visitors and are member-only forums.
