I don't seem to be able to reply to people's posts in the Introductions and Promotions forum. The button "Post Reply" simply isn't there. Here's a screen shot:

I think this happened about the time I became an HRM...

It does say in the lower-right corner that you don't have permission to post.

That doesn't solve the problem, I realize - just offering the observation for those higher than me that might be able to fix the problem.

So sorry about that, Reiyen! Somehow you ended up a member of the bot group as well as the Honor Roll Member group. Needless to say, you have been de-membered from the bot group and you should be able to reply to all posts now. Actually, we are rather glad this happened to you because we now have to fix a bug in regards to the bot group, which we were not originally aware of. :)

How did I turn him into a bot and and HRM?

I mean, I know how you can make a member of two groups, but I only made one action. So how in the world did he end up as two things? :?

*chuckles* Now, that I am not entirely sure about. Apparently you added him to the bot group after you added him to the Honor Roll Member group. Perhaps you just clicked more than once someplace and the timing caused the said reaction.

Wait a minute...So bots can post in Q&A?? I don't think they should be able to post anywhere. (bot, like the Google [bot], right? Why wasn't Reiyen called Reiyen [bot]?)

Bots can't post anywhere (bots aren't capable of it, anyways, unless they were designed that way by spammers), they don't have the permissions to do so.

The [bot] portion is a part of their usernames, not added because they are in the usergroup.

The difficulties was caused by inconsistencies in the forum specific permissions settings. Those are remedied now. :)

But if Reiyen was a "bot," how did he post in Q&A?

Like I said, it was because of inconsistencies in the forum specific permissions that he wasn't able to post in the others. He should have not noticed a difference at all.

I see.

And that was today's episode of: "Jay explains something mysterious about HW." Come back next week for a new question and answer. Thanks for watching. ;)

Well, I enjoyed being the star of this reality HW series. However, I am planning to let that contract expire and return to normal life, where I am not a bot. ;)
