It has been decided that the Announcements room is going to be returned to it's original purpose: making announcements. Therefore, general discussion is going to be generally discouraged. This does not mean we don't want discussion about our announcements; just in some situations we'll want the discussion to take place somewhere besides here. This is so that everyone can tell when we make an announcement rather than thinking it is just someone commenting on something else.
Therefore, the welcome threads for the new promotions have been split. We'll announce a promotion here, and link to a thread in Introductions for congratulatory remarks. That way everyone will know when someone is promoted, but they won't have to be distracted by people commenting in the Announcements room. See?
I'm also thinking Introductions is a good place to talk about name changes. You can announce it here, but if you want a general discussion about what you changed it to, or why you changed it, or if you want to change it, that would be a good place.
If you are a little colored named person be sure to read the new threads that Lady Esmeralda has posted about your duties. If you are not a little colored name person go check out the new threads Lady Esmeralda has posted in the Library. We've got all sorts of new information regarding the ranking system, editing, BBcodes, linking and other cool stuff.
The Marcher Lords have been, and probably will continue to be, changing room names and moving some stuff around. If you have some kind of odd error that goes away it's probably a result of that. But if you have a continuing problem be sure to ask about it in Q&A.
If you can't find something due to threads moving PM the nearest moderator or Marcher Lord. They'll probably know.
Also be sure to check out the Vault more in the future. Since we're moving old threads into there there'll be more to look at then some old dusty test messages no one cares about. It will be like a kind of Reference guide itself and make for interesting reading when you have nothing else to do. All the topics are locked to further conversation, but archived there if anyone is interested in seeing what previous conversations discussed.
Thank you all for bearing with us as we get everything straightened out!
