I've noticed that a lot of people have extra stuff beneath what they actually post, i.e. quotes, works in progress, blogs. How would I do that? Do I have to enter the information manually every time or is there a way to automate it so that it goes beneath each post?

The technical term for that space is the "signature"; you can edit it in your User Control Panel ("UCP" in the menu at the top of the page, between "FAQ" and "MEMBERS"). Once in the Control Panel, in the menu on the left-hand side of the page, click on "Profile", then on "Edit signature." This will cause what you write there to appear beneath every post you make or have made---until you change it, when your new signature will appear. (Except that you can choose to not have any signature appear beneath one of your posts if you like, by unchecking the "Attach a signature" check-box above the "Submit" button.)
