While we hate to admit it, bug dragons exist. This thread will be used to document current bugs and their fixes. While we are currently working on rebuilding the forum entirely, it's important to us that the current website is working for everyone. So, if you find a bug, please document a brief description of the problem you're experiencing, we'll be sure to respond and start working on a fix as soon as possible. Now, let's start this thread on a happy note. You may have noticed the Anduin nav bar was broken it is now fixed and working. *cue confetti* |

I keep having to log in every time I try to get on even after checking "log me on automatically." But that is something I can deal with. |

Thanks for letting us know, Faith. We've had a few users report similar issues so this bug is a priority for us. We're working on setting up a test environment so we don't break anything on the main site but we hope to have a fix rolled out A.S.A.P. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and I'll continue to update this thread as progress is made. |

Thanks for your reply Jon, you are correct. If after changing the DST setting, you are still having problems, please let me know and I'll look into it. That said, we should start to see DST adjust itself as we roll out some of the updates we're planning on in the near future. |

After about a week of testing, it's official, the login bug is fixed and you should no longer get logged out just before you're done writing that extra long post. If anyone continues to run into this issue, please feel free to send me an email or PM, I'll do my best to help you resolve it. |

I haven't gotten a notification email ("new topic notification", "forum post notification", or "topic reply notification") since October 26, despite there having been topics created and replies posted in between my dozen or so comprehensive passes through the forums since then. |

Noted. I'll look into it soon. In other news, chat seems to be having some issues, loads up a blank page (as seen when logged out). I shall look into this relatively soon as well. |

Same same. CoTI (http://www.travellerrpg.com/CotI/Discuss/) had a similar issue a few weeks ago. Aramis is the admin that fixed it, and may have some ideas. |

Thanks for the suggestion, but CoTI uses a different forum software, the problem is not likely to be the same. We've seen this issue in the past and we'll work to get a fix rolled out. As we start to roll out updates to the forum software, we should start to less issues as well. |

I don't know if it's really a bug but I've noticed I can only be logged in to Holy Worlds from one PC at a time. I always check the "keep me logged in" box and that works - until I login at a different computer - then when I go back to my main computer, I'm logged out and have to login again. (I tend to access Holy Worlds at home & at work.) |

I recently (as in sometime in the last two weeks) had to log in again in pretty much all my browsers, and before that had it happen in one browser or another on occasion, but the "remember me" functionality generally works quite well for me. (My usage pattern is to open links from notification emails in Elinks, but to leave a "pinned tab" open to the main page in Firefox and skim through that at least a few times a week. Plus some visits from computer-lab computers on occasion.) Lady Sparks, what browser(s) are you using? And do you have any kind of "tracking protection" setting turned on? |

| Post subject: | Re: Bug Documentation |
I use Chrome. I don't think I have any kind of tracking protection turned on either. But all that being said - after having this problem 100% of the time for the past few months (as I access HW from work during the day and then my home PC at night) - right this minute it seems to be fixed? I had to log in to HW yesterday when I made the post. And I had to log in again at home as I got several notices for activity last night. But just now, back at work, I did NOT have to log in again! |

When I followed the link in today's notification of a new topic in the New Members room, I found what appear to be three copies of the thread, none of which contain any posts. (So they continue to be "unread threads" even after I try to read them, though the "views" count goes up. And this same behavior occurs in both Firefox and the text-mode browser elinks, which further objects that the "unread" fragment doesn't exist when I try to visit the thread via the "first unread post" link.) Possibly related, on the main index page the "Last post" column says there are no posts in the "Introductions and Celebrations" area despite there being (according to the "Topics" column) 14 threads in that area. |

I didn't try another browser, but I also was unable to read any of the three welcome posts from Hope Pennington. I did click on "Post Reply" on one of them to see if it showed up there, but it didn't. |

I am unable to view Hope's post either. I suspect no post content was ever written to the database. While this is not something I currently have access to, I'll send Joel an email and see if he'll take a look. As always, thanks for letting us know about this issue! |

Just dropping in to say I removed the duplicate topics but I could not find any source of the bug. So only the thread with replies is now visible. I'd suggest, if Hope wishes, she could just resubmit her welcome topic, either as a new topic or as a reply to the bugged one. |

Reiyen, I'm sorry to hear that, I had thought we got that bug figured out. Is there any chance you were on a mobile device at the time, using LTE, 3G, etc? Miss Elizabeth wrote: Forgot to mention this at the time, but I accidentally locked the wrong topic and someone who has no "rank" was still able to reply to it. That's not supposed to happen, is it? Nope, that's not supposed to happen. Was the locking and replying time fairly back-to-back? There's been a lot of modification to the engine that runs HW, I'm a little worried that a lot of these bugs are coming from that. I have started a discussion with the administrators and they will decide the best course of action for getting everything updated. Lady Sparks, don't quote me on this, but I suspect this is due to many of those being out-of-date and as such, are in the process of being updated. I would suspect the General herself can provide some clarity to this and have summoned her presence to this post. Thanks! |

I was not aware the summoning feature still worked. ![]() Yes, the rules and F&Q are in the process of being rewritten. I wasn't aware the old ones had gone down (unless I told Joel to do it and then forgot--an equally possible scenario >.>), so I'll have Joel look into it. But they were grossly outdated. |

| Post subject: | Re: Bug Documentation |
A (subscribed-topic reply, if it matters) notification email I received in the last hour or so (from what I gather is the new address for these?) had Content-Type header set to "text/html" despite its content being unchanged from previous messages, which had been accurately labeled "text/plain." This caused my email client (both Gmail, which I was using at first, and then Alpine when I investigated further) to run all eight (counting the "signature"), nicely (no line longer than 80 characters) formatted, paragraphs together into one long line. We, or the dev team, can discuss whether notification emails should be plain text or HTML (I would argue that plain-text should be at least an option ...), but at the very least the Content-Type header should accurately describe the content. |
