Greetings, friends! As you know, it has been decided that Penoaks Publishing is acquiring Holy Worlds. This means a new site, new leadership, new projects, and new opportunities! But, naturally, this also means a lot of changes and crazy stuff happening all at once. So, while we're in transition, I and the other admin will use this thread to keep you updated with what's going on and what's coming next. Subscribe to this thread to stay abreast with all the goings-on. Here's to a bright and exciting future! |

UPDATE: As part of the transition, we will be getting a brand new site! Now, don't panic--this doesn't mean the forum is starting over. Users and active threads will all be transitioned over, although a lot of threads will be archived so we can start with a clean house. The whole kit and kaboodle--all the old sites, including the code and archives--will be zipped and saved securely on our company server, so that we'll always have access to it if we need it. What this does mean, however, is that we get to start with a fresh, clean "back end." The tech team is designing a new forum for us to call home. This gives us a great opportunity to fix some lingering bug-dragons, implement new features, and update the design. To that end, we're looking for your feedback! Take a moment to fill out this survey and let us know what you like about the site and what you'd like to see in the new one. This will tell us (and the tech team) what's most important to you. You can also use the above thread to ask any questions you might have about the transition and new site. |

UPDATE: Even though we will be "copying" all active threads over to the new site, the moderator in me sees this as a golden opportunity to do a good spring cleaning. Honestly, this is the best part of moving for us green people. Meanwhile, soon you'll start seeing new threads pop up. Some of these threads might talk about new features, user groups, etc. that aren't available yet. This is all stuff for the new site; we're just getting ready for launch. Feel free to ask questions, as always, but don't weirded out if we're blabbering about something that doesn't appear to exist yet! |

UPDATE: You may have been wondering why there hasn't been an update recently. That's because a lot of work has been going on behind the scenes, but it's all been in the form of code that I can neither share nor translate into layman's terms, because I'm too dumb to understand it. True story. That is to say, Joel has been pulling 12-hour days working on getting the new site up and running. Until that's up, we won't have much to show you, but once we get our new sandbox, a lot will start snowballing. In the meantime, I know there's some lingering bugs with our current site. For obvious reasons, it's not a wise use of our tech team's limited energy to overhaul this site when it's ultimately going to be replaced. However, if you are experiencing an issue that affects the basic functionality of the site (i.e., you're locked out, it won't let you make a post, won't let you chat, etc.), please send me a message with a detailed description of what's happening. We'll do our best to patch the existing site so that people can keep using it up until the very moment we make the switch. You can always reach me via FB, Twitter (@elfinpen), or the contact form/email on http:penoaks.com if you can't access the PMs here. |

Good news, everyone! (If you did not read that in a Professor Farnsworth voice, we need to have a serious talk. Joel has made several breakthroughs this past week with the new site, and we are getting very close to having the framework done. For you non-techy people (aka, me Once the framework is finished, Joel and Aidan are going to team up to build the actual user-end site. This will be a quicker (probably) and a more visual/fun phase. In fact, you'll be able to help them test the demo site! Details will be posted as soon as that's available. The framework is getting close, so within the next couple of weeks work on the main site will start in earnest. So hang tight, and soon we'll have something to show for our work! |

Hey guys! Some of you may have noticed that HW went offline briefly yesterday. This was due to an issue with our current hosting provider, BlueHost. We had originally planned on keeping the current site running on BlueHost as-is until the new site was ready to launch, but due to the continuing issues (and unnecessary expense) with BlueHost, yesterday's events prompted us to go ahead and move the site over to Penoaks' company servers. This was a "copy and paste" move--meaning nothing about the site itself has changed, it was simply relocated to our servers. Therefore, the site should continue to function as it was before--although, you may already notice that the main forum page is loading considerably faster. That being said, there was a ton of data to copy, so there may still be a few areas of the site that are down. If you experience continued issues with any parts of the site after today, please let me know. You can reach me on FB if you can't access PMs here on the site. https://www.facebook.com/rachel.petersen.921 |
