Weekly Challenge #291: Write a story or scene about two people—or other nonhuman characters, if you prefer—from very different backgrounds sharing a meal together. What do they learn about each other that they weren't expecting?

Directions:

Does writing several school papers about the Antioch incident count? I'm kidding--I'm not actually going to count it--but your prompt reminded me of it, since we've been studying that passage for school, and it was extremely monumental at the time that Jews and Gentiles were eating together. (Galatians 2:11-14)

I FINALLY sorted out the complex backstory that comes into play in this chapter... It was hanging me up for so long, and I couldn't properly write the interactions in this chapter without knowing who knew what and who was after what and who hated who, etc. I finally got it sorted out, so I've been writing on this chapter all weekend. I'm still fighting it somewhat--I'm not 100% happy with the writing, but can't really figure out what it needs, so maybe it's just me being fussy--but I've only got a few more pages to rewrite.
