Weekly Challenge Accepted! Actually, I've gotten an early start and am now waiting on the rest of you layabouts. You've got your basic sci-fi or an interesting alt-earth to choose from: get cracking! Completed and Repeated. Not sure if continuing the same thread is repeating or not. Guigielmo sent Anika two letters. Al needs to answer Mistress Kidh as well.

Personal Goal 1: Move Dede forward according to her journey. Completed.
Personal Goal 2: Rewrite Zo intro as prologue for TDW.1429.1. Completed.
Personal Goal 3: Find some ways to show Al as a likable kid, even though she struggles. Completed.
Personal Goal 4: Encourage those God is bringing into my life.Three since posting this. For those who don't know, encouragement is my second strongest gift. "Grumpy old fart" still tops the charts though... Four now.
Personal Goal 5: Let myself be encouraged. Two hits on this already, praise God! Four now. Considered completed, though encouragement is always welcome.
Personal Goal 6: Ben and Jimmie scene start. Completed

I've been sloughing for a few weeks, time to get back on track.

Welp, I meant to post last night, but due to family fun time I never got back to the computer. :D I didn't finish my scene because I ended up rewriting it instead of just editing it, but I got through a significant part of the rewrite and am extremely happy with how it's turning out... so that's a win, right?

Does the Hare win? ;)
... or Zeno:

The Tortoise challenged Achilles to a race, claiming that he would win as long as Achilles gave him a small head start. Achilles laughed at this, for of course he was a mighty warrior and swift of foot, whereas the Tortoise was heavy and slow.

“How big a head start do you need?” he asked the Tortoise with a smile.

“Ten meters,” the latter replied.

Achilles laughed louder than ever. “You will surely lose, my friend, in that case,” he told the Tortoise, “but let us race, if you wish it.”

“On the contrary,” said the Tortoise, “I will win, and I can prove it to you by a simple argument.”

“Go on then,” Achilles replied, with less confidence than he felt before. He knew he was the superior athlete, but he also knew the Tortoise had the sharper wits, and he had lost many a bewildering argument with him before this.

“Suppose,” began the Tortoise, “that you give me a 10-meter head start. Would you say that you could cover that 10 meters between us very quickly?”

“Very quickly,” Achilles affirmed.

“And in that time, how far should I have gone, do you think?”

“Perhaps a meter—no more,” said Achilles after a moment’s thought.

“Very well,” replied the Tortoise, “so now there is a meter between us. And you would catch up that distance very quickly?”

“Very quickly indeed!”

“And yet, in that time I shall have gone a little way farther, so that now you must catch that distance up, yes?”

“Ye-es,” said Achilles slowly.

“And while you are doing so, I shall have gone a little way farther, so that you must then catch up the new distance,” the Tortoise continued smoothly.

Achilles said nothing.

“And so you see, in each moment you must be catching up the distance between us, and yet I—at the same time—will be adding a new distance, however small, for you to catch up again.”

“Indeed, it must be so,” said Achilles wearily.

“And so you can never catch up,” the Tortoise concluded sympathetically.

“You are right, as always,” said Achilles sadly—and conceded the race.

Are all of you people seriously claiming to be SO BUSY, that you cannot attempt to make one post on one of the character interview threads this week?
Wow, that's pretty pathetic. I mean, this one rates up there with 'write a couplet' in terms of difficulty. :P

I can write about coupling but I figured that'd not go over well. I'm too young for that.

Oh, couplet. Nevermind.

I just remember the Weekly challenge to write a couplet because I had to look up what a couplet was. I had to check several sources before I was confident that it could really be met by just writing two lines that rhyme.

"A couplet I must write,
hardly worth a fright."
... Challenge done.

"I don't know what to do,
So I'll stop and tie my shoe."
... Challenge repeated (badly).

This week ain't much harder. "Post on a character interview."

*sigh* No, the Tortoise will win. It actually was an assignment I had that I am now lengthening for the fun of it. However, I was not allowed to change the meaning of the story (and thus the outcome). I am writing in first person though with the Hare as my main character. It has gotten quite interesting . Maybe I will end up posting it IF I complete it :D.

I did see it...and looked at an interview forum. My two oldest brothers are coming home from college tomorrow, I am the oldest in charge until then, and I am finishing up projects for a project fair on Thursday.
Alas! I didn't see your challenge until now! However, amidst the busyness I will try and find time to post on an interview thread even though I will not earn the points. Mine will most likely not be as lengthy as yours though ;).

Personal Challenge: Sort of complete? I finished Ch4 and have started Ch5 but it's still giving me fits. :P

But I went to a church service tonight that I didn't know was going on until today, and got both of my term papers done, so I'm not sorry. :P
