The track is too unpredictable. By the time they know for sure whether my house will face a Tropic Storm wind or a Cat 4-5 Hurricane I will have less than 24 hours before it is here. So we are leaving this afternoon and watching from somewhere near Alabama.

If necessary, houses can be replaced ... families are harder to lose.

I'm so glad you're thinking ahead. Travel carefully. We're praying.

Weekly challenge completed. It's actually more of a seascape, but it counts.

I worked on my goal, but it's not done.

Are you all doing ok where you're at now, atpollard? Praying for you and the area.

I evacuated my family to the area where NC, GA and TN all come together.
So the people are all safe (praise God), and the latest track of the storm predicts a Category 3 hurricane right over my house. Total loss of property is a real possibility.

This is what I had feared when the path was still down the middle of Florida and God laid it on my heart to evacuate 'just in case'. About 6 hours after we left, they issued a suggested evacuation for people in flood zones and trailers (we were not). About 12 hours after we left, they upgraded it to mandatory. About 18 hours after we left, they increased it to a full mandatory evacuation for all homes in our town (flood zone or not). By then we were in another state.

Anyway, the weather is beautiful and we are visiting with family in north GA.
We just drove into NC to buy chicken at the nearest grocery store.
