Directions:
1. Post on the challenge thread, declaring the goals you have committed to. This must be done before midnight on Monday.
2. When you have finished your goals, post on the challenge thread again, stating what goals you have completed, how many times you have completed them, and whether any of them were combined.
3. At midnight on Saturday you are not allowed to report any more finished goals, and the challenge is over.

Rules:
1. You can repeat the weekly challenges, and get more points, but if you repeat your own personal goal, you will not get extra points.
2. The organizer has the right to veto any personal goal that seems too easy (i.e. writing a sentence).

Points:
You can earn points in these ways:
1. completing the weekly challenge
2. repeating the weekly challenge
3. completing your personal goal
4. combining your personal goal and the weekly challenge

Yeah, but if you were in atpollard's Traveller game you'd have plenty of material.

Just sayin'

No, I imagine you are crazy busy with massive projects. That's what work is like for me ... hello 12 hour day. What the games give me are short breaks for a burst of free creativity. I have 3 games, each with about 2 posts per week at about 300-600 words per post. So each day, I read a few hundred words that someone else has written to advance a story and think about how my character will react to this new information or event (in 300 to 600 words). So for three games, that is six chances to work a "Weekly Challenge 254: Write about a first day" into the response.

If you chose to jump in, it would mean two or three (your choice on how often) chances to write a couple hundred word response to some unusual events (like 'De' rushing in frantic that her brother is missing).

When I went back to the first Weekly Challenge, it was to write a dribble ... because the entry bar to writing was so high that everyone was procrastinating. The PbP (play by post) RPG (role-playing game) lowers that entry bar by creating lots of opportunities for short bursts of writing creativity. That is the 'material' that you lack and Domici was suggesting ... low hanging fruit.

Personally, I suspect that running a publishing company makes TIME your most valuable commodity. So I extend an invite - (heck, anyone is welcome to drop in or drop out of the game, that is how I set it up ... a giant sandbox for anyone who wants to jump in to play in. Rules light and options heavy) - but I have no idea if you have even two hours per week to spare. So you gotta do what is best for you.

That's so sweet of you! Yes, my problem last week was that I actually had a social life (it was really weird...?); this week, there's a church conference and in-laws visiting. But, I do need to keep up with Peter's Angel (the goal I keep missing), because I'm on a schedule to release a new chapter every week, now, so that's good motivation.

Anyway, I will definitely take a look at it. I'm going to let my local friend introduce me to the game first, and then, if it doesn't go all horribly wrong, I'll see what you're up to. :D

atpollard has suffered though my lack of writing craft as well as my twisted plots. Further, he has set up an overwhelming set of challenges based in a diverse world full of interesting people and then had the gall to give me freedom to write!

My wife has long encouraged me to write more, atpollard provided a wonderful place to grow that calling. Without that combination I'd still be doing omniscient third person dialogue only scenes no one else understood. Well, I'm still doing that, but trying to improve.

Just barely. I have four good weapons and a fifth that needs to be reworked.

The revolvers came out good.
The pistols came out good.
The carbines had some interesting results.
The SMG/Machine Pistols worked.
I tried to add a Derringer and came up with a design that will shoot a man in half, but it only has a range of about a foot (4 inches is ideal). I think I need to go back and make some adjustments to that design. A little less bullet and a lot more powder. ;)

OK, I had some time to work on it.
Replaced the Derringer with a Shotgun family of weapons ... so that makes 5 groups of weapons.

Hey, Domici. I haven't ignored your data on 12mm. I just already had all of the math on the 10mm rounds so I wanted to use what I had to at least get something down on paper. I'll look hard at 12mm next week.
