Guys, I'm going to pull an Abi here and ask for your help. Except I'm too lazy to make a poll, so in that sense she's still a better person than I am.

My husband and I are into cosplaying and conventions, and we did them constantly while dating and our first year married. (Ahh, the honeymoon phase.) But then eventually we had to start adulting and buy and house and all that other nonsense, so we only did one convention last year, and I wasn't able to put together a new cosplay. This next year, however, we're making an effort to get out more, and I need to put together some new cosplays.

Only problem is... I don't know which one to do first! So I figured I would do what Abi does and make y'all decide for me.

This is my current wishlist (sans MLP cosplays): https://www.pinterest.com/leahsama/non- ... ant-to-do/ And this is the current pony wishlist: https://www.pinterest.com/leahsama/cosp ... o-one-day/

It's worth noting that I do a lot of found object/altered cosplays, because I really don't enjoy sewing very much. :P I will probably try to do at least one sewing-heavy project this coming year, though.

Thoughts?

Imitation is the highest form of flattery.

I'd do Jack or Mavis for a non-pony cosplay. Both could be done with minimal sewing, if you've got the right found items. Or that's my opinion as a fellow thrifty cosplayer, anyway. XD For pony 'plays, Coloratura stood out to me immediately. But even that could be done with found items and minimal sewing.

At least, I think it'd be minimal sewing. XD That's kind of a relative term, now that I think about it... XD I love to sew, so something that doesn't totally involve me ripping out all the seams and piecing it back together with 3 other garments is what I'd consider minimal XD

For a more intensive sewn cosplay, I would do Gilbert. The bias tape on the edges of his cloak and the chains wrapped around his arm, as well as the general structure of the garment, would stretch your sewing skills quite a bit. ^_^

I know, I'm unhelpful. "Which should I do next?" "THIS ONE AND THIS ONE AND ALSO THIS ONE" XD You're welcome. ;)

I should have known you'd give a response like that, Abi. <3

I agree about Mavis. Plus, if I get a short black wig, I could use it for several of those cosplays, with some styling or temp color streaks.

With Rara, what I want to do is create a transformation cosplay. I want to hide her final outfit (the one with the sheer) underneath her original outfit (the punk one, which I don't think I pinned). It would be pretty easy to transform the outfit. The hair, on the other hand, would be harder, since it changes color entirely...
