Dear All,

One thing that had always intrigued and helped me were the guides and systems one developed for creation of their worlds, races, characters, et cetera. Do you think it would be beneficial to un-archive some of the useful or helpful guides created in times past such as IRFS by Suiathon (link below) or some of the essence tutorials?

http://www.holyworlds.org/fantasy/viewtopic.php?f=244&t=7548&hilit=IRFS

Sincerely,

Ultimately, this isn't my call but I'll throw my thoughts out there. :)

I suggest that a list of some useful threads (such as the IRFS example) be compiled and maintained in a sticky thread labeled "Resources" coinciding to the appropriate forum. This way users have a quick place to view these guides but the forums are also cleaned up for new threads. If someone has a question or comment, that could always be thrown in a new thread.

Definitely sounds better (simpler, prettier, etc.) than bringing them all back. :) Do we have a *hats off to you* smily thingy?

Haha, definitely not worthy of a "hats off to you" emoji. :)

Now, I'd recommend we start getting a list of beneficial guides together (perhaps in this thread?) and when we have a decent amount, present them to an admin and with their permission, I can create the sticky threads and begin population. :)

I found Seer's Worldbuilding Thread Index which already takes care of IRFS, DCultFS, and several others. It's sweet to still see that amazing thread around. The links below are ones I believe to not be already mentioned or indexed anywhere.

NOTE: I know this is less technical in the sense of guide-y-ness for something complex, but it still looked quite helpful.

I looked through the first 35 pages (total: 57) of threads and these are the main ones that I have found thus far. I will conclude my search in the near future as I have time.

I think the sticky is a fantastic idea, guys. Good call, and those are really good thread resources too.

Well done Kenton! Varon's right those are some pretty good threads. I'll reach out to Aubrey this evening, to make sure she's okay with this plan, and possibly get some sticky threads up tomorrow. :)

99.9% certain she'll say yes, but maybe with some variations depending on how the new website is going.

I'm assuming I said yes because I do not remember this conversation, but obviously I like this idea.

Sticky links are great for now. In the future, when we have a better site interface, I'd love for us to maintain an actual Wiki-type resource of articles. Good work, gentlemen!

Yeah, you did. Perhaps it's just that you were busy with production or perhaps I just need to make my emails more memorable and less boring. ;)

I'd love that too. It'd definitely make it easier and it'd be nice to integrate that urban dictionary in there too.

Just as long as you didn't pull a fast one on me and get me to agree to something stupid while I was distracted. ;)
