This is for you to explain your signature quote or whatever you have there. Mine is an excerpt from my story, The First Arrow. Ti is talking to Erynne as they gaze at the stars about life in general. It turned out to be quite profound, I realized after I wrote it.

Post subject:  Re: Signatures

Mine is a list of things that are important to me (mostly). Elestar is a word without a directly translatable meaning, and the list of things is an attempt on my part to give the meaning in pictures. For now.

That's really pretty. I think like that too, and my family (rational, mathematic, and straight-forward) just don't get it.

My signature (which will probably be changing CONSTANTLY, because I have ADD tendencies. ;) ) for now, is based on a question I've always wanted answered, where DO shadows go and why can't we keep light in a box, and what IS light anyway?

Author:  Elestar [ October 14th, 2009, 8:54 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Signatures

It's funny you should ask that. I've been toying with an idea (that I'll probably use, because I think it's cool) wherein light and dark can be actual, physical things that can be felt and controlled. But yeah, I LOVE the signature. I bet they do live in wells.

Post subject:  Re: Signatures

Oh, I forgot to mention that in my signature I do make a reference to my story. I speak of the stars as "white-fire echoes of the moon". When the world was created, Chandera sang the moon into being, and as the last notes of her song faded, the stars appeared in the sky. Echoes of the moon.

Post subject:  Re: Signatures

Elestar...you have an awesome imagination! The "white fire-echos of the moon" sound really cool. Jay, is that kind of like those cloaks the elves gave the hobbits? I'm sure you didn't copy, I just wondered if yours are similar.

Thanks. Mine is actually a very short version of a much longer description of Sir Emeth Mimetes that I wrote when I first got onto the Rebelution forums. You can see the whole thing in my profile on facebook if you are my friend on there. I might post it somewhere. :)

It is actually not my language, it is Hebrew and Greek. :)

Thanks. I wanted an alias for me, and that worked out well. I like being called 'sir.' ;)

That's funny. I have two friends who are also fellow writers, and we are coathouring a couple stories so we call each other "Queen Liagiba" "King Eiram" "King Natahn" and "Queen Jesiveve", plus the other 5,000 characters we had to add. :D

Definitely. It also helps when we brainstorm together, we've made some awesome breakthroughs.

Just a question, is Sir Emeth Mimetes in your story and is he the main character, then?

Nope. He is my own self (on the internet). He is not in my stories. :)

A couple. Elio, Ithilrun, Kimun, etc.

Post subject:  Re: Signatures

Funnily enough, most of my good main characters have little bits of my personality in them. It's pretty interesting. Except for Lia, who is me through and through, except the fact that I have a smoother tongue than her when I think before I talk.

I really like the name Ithilrun. Who's he?

Umm... A Minorian Elve. From Eireish Beil during its downfall. He meets Kimun in the desert of Ecroi and they band together to destroy the Dark Empire in the Fourth Age.

Kimun is the most like me though. He goes through much the same spiritual walk that I did, except very much exaggerated. He ends up being a prophet. :)

Prophets do not always write sad, despondent poetry. Go read David and Samuel's writings. :)

Mine is a line from my book Journey to Holimahnk. It is where Tyonne is telling Malchus something that Malchus does not quite understand yet.

(It means that while everything is going on we will still follow the true One, and that we are planted in a group of evil people to show them the way.)

My signature is a clip from a powerful scene in my story (at least I want it to be powerful). The girl and her father are being pursued by enemies, who have orders to kill everyone in the castle. So the man puts his daughter in the secret hiding place, then goes out to draw the soldiers away from where she is.

I'm probably going to change my signature in the future, so I'll paste the current one here:

Her father set her down, ran to the closet in the empty room, and lifted up a thin stone in the floor. Dark red trickled in a line from his shoulder. "Get in here, baby girl," he said hoarsely. She crawled into the small space under the floor. "Now stay here, or else the mean men will get you."
"Okay," she whispered. He kissed her forehead, his eyes burning in the dim light. Then he let the stone drop. His footsteps hurried away, and she was alone in darkness.

My signature is a mix of several things.

The first part is just my username, Which is the name of my main character in the novel I'm writing right now.
The second part is my favorite quote from the return of the king.
The third part is one of my favorite Bible verses.
The fourth part is just a random part out of one random day.
The fifth part is my favorite quote from Alice and WonderLand, The return to WonderLand.
The sixth part is a part that I really liked in a book that I was reading.

I will change it eventually though.

Also posting my siggie because it's inevitable that it'll change:

Quote:
I am Dragon. I am Cat. I am the bane of Mousie.

"I will not snare even an orc in a falsehood."

~Captain Faramir, son of the Steward Denethor

"You can trust us to stick to you through thick and thin - to the bitter end. You can trust us to keep any secret of yours - closer than you keep it yourself. But you cannot trust us to let you face trouble alone, and go off without a word. We are your friends." - Meriadoc Took

The first part refers to a joke between and Mousie, otherwise known as Kat. (or KathrineROID) She is a Mouse who is taking over the world, and I am a Cat, who is bent on stopping her devious schemes and making her write blog posts instead. :dieshappy:

The other quotes are from LotR - my absolute favorite fantasy book. It's got so many awesome quotes. XD I love 'em both because they're just... cool... but the first especially because Faramir is one of my favorite characters. (because his story is tragic with a sweet, happy ending. :D)

Eruheran is my main character for my yet-to-be-written fantasy novel. This isn't my main fantasy novel, but I didn't just want to rip off my MC's name from The Two Fathers :P
I am a Knight of Dorodhiel, sworn to protect Her Highness and the nation of Mesal. I was rewarded with a dukedom after I was knighted, and Lenecthrea is my home.

Following is some random links to projects of mine. Last is a word count for my only active fantasy novel, the Two Fathers

That's it :)
