OK, who's hooked?

When did you start? What team did you pick and why?

I downloaded the app Friday, but didn't play until yesterday evening when I dragged my sister out for some hunting. We discovered a store that hung a dozen air plants in its front window, murals in our city we didn't know existed, and actual cats and dogs. "Be alert at all times" is now a joke between us because she kept smacking her head on low-hanging branches. I went hunting on my own this morning (reached lvl 5!) and met someone who tried to sell me weed and a nice old lady who ran a Little Free Library. Also discovered a park in our neighborhood I didn't know existed. Haven't picked a team yet.

My legs are sore.

My husband has played some. I think it's a brilliant idea for a game, and would like to see other people build on the same concept.

I just haven't had time to try it yet. :bawl:

So far I've seen a lot of people playing it and it's just another thing to suck them back to their phone (often times in public places, e.g. There was someone walking around a restaurant with it open the other day). Do we really need that?

As it stands it's difficult to go on a walk or ride a bike without stopping to check that text or just read that email. I at least, find that I have become a phone addict, I don't need another excuse to turn to my phone and ignore the beautiful people around me or "forget" to glorify the God who created us to do so.

I see nothing wrong with playing a game but I'm already spending enough time on my phone without it so these are just some of the reasons I'm choosing to stay away. Besides, what's Pokemon? ;)

I was planning to avoid it but then I thought it might be a fun activity with my daughter. So I downloaded it only to discover we can't register. I've been trying a couple times a day with no luck. So...

I haven't got it, and I won't be getting it, to be honest. Maybe I'm just getting too old, but I think I have enough going on in my life at the moment; I don't have time to play a game that seems to take so much time to play - and is pretty addictive by the sounds of it. Haha!

I really, really enjoy Pokemon Go. I get to hatch eggs while I'm walking to/from work. And I've been making new friends both on and off my team. It's been bringing people together and it makes us happy. It's forming a sense of community that is often lost in larger cities. I forgot how much I missed it back home.

I haven't played 'cause I don't have a smart phone - but a few people in my ministry house are. I'm enjoying keeping up on the news articles, and reading about the different ways this is encouraging people to explore their neighborhoods and meet their neighbors. I'd love to see similar type games come out.

The Boardwalk Chapel where I am serving this summer is a Gym - I think that's a neat way to get people who might otherwise walk past us, to at least pause. :)

Finally had time to get it working on my phone. I haven't had much time to go exploring, but I've got a few Pokemon, and am now trying to come up with a unique geeky name for each one. XD

We've been having family fun, passing the phone between the 3 of us and going on Poke-drives together. My mom and sister are playing, too, so it's been fun interacting with each other over it.
