Hey y'all! So I'm back at things again, this time working on a short story for my creative writing class this semester, and yes, it is a Starsailer story. Long story short, one of the professors getting promoted at convocation today used the phrase "empires of glass." That just brought to mind the image of a planet with towering glass cityscapes, almost looking carved from ice, and as I was thinking about it, and I saw a sailing ship soar across the horizon, and it was perfect.

So, this is happening. Just the smallest idea at the moment, but I'll try and keep progress updated here.

I have a bunch of information written out for it now that I'll try and get up this weekend after I hike my 14er in the morning.

Main character is Valerie Fae, captain of the Dark Star, pirate and formerly of Her Majesty's Imperial Space Command.
