I didn’t realize this was here. At the recommendation of Calenmiriel I am here to introduce myself properly. My name is Airianna Valenshia. I found the site on the Rebelution Forum a few days ago. Love it! The moment I came on the sight and saw hundreds of other fantastical fictitious names I knew I had found a group of kindred spirits!

I have three books under construction. The first is The Mark of the Diegose. This book is almost finalized, just a few tweaks left. It is the first book in my trilogy. The second book is three fourth’s of the way done. The third installment is still in the dream stages, although I have most of the components to write it.

I’m not a published author at this point, but I have lots of hopes of becoming one. I have a few readers who have read my first book and love it (my 16 and 13 year old brother’s for starters). I’m very glad to be here and hope I can contribute.

As a side note I’m also an artist by trade. If there’s anything else you’d like to know feel free to ask. My life is an open book *wink wink*.

Yay! Welcome to Holy Worlds, Airianna! I see you've made your way around the forum easily, and I hope you are enjoying it so far. :D

An artist you say? Why, I'm an artist myself! ;) What mediums do you work with? (Drawing, painting, ect.)

I have several mediums that I dabble in. I work mostly with oil painting and graphite sketching. However my work is not limited to theses forms of art. I also use acrylic paints, depending on my subject matter, and I have a greeting card business called Squiggles ‘n’ Scratches that I do mostly in colored pencils.

I paint on just about anything. I have designed several nurseries and children’s rooms and have even done a bathroom. The one child’s room I did was very whimsical with a majestic tree trailing up one wall and butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, and bee’s soaring all over the walls. The dragonflies had glittery wings, the butterflies wings were applied with jewels, and the lady bugs had heart spots on them. I also paint on plates, saws, furniture, and almost any other surface.

I also have a few art pieces that are getting ready to be put in a local art gallery and one of my pieces has been auctioned off at the Coldwell Banker Auction.

If someone will tell me how to insert some of my images I could share a few pieces with you.

Wow! You're a great artist! Have you taken lessons or something?

I love drawing though I'm not nearly as good as you. My characters look more cartoonish. Oh well, I like them anyway.

I have never been a painter. (Mainly because I'm afraid to use it and blending colors is daunting...) I am self-taught but am looking to have some drawing and watercolor lessons this fall from a family friend. :)

I'm actually planning a mural for a nature center that I hope to finish in December. ^^;;

Your drawings are wonderful! I have no idea how to scan my drawings so I usually take a photo. :P I draw several things. I used to draw only horses for the longest time, then anime/manga, and now I have been drawing portraits and nature things lately.

As well as some people say I draw, I can never get my own book characters onto paper. They just don't look like how I imagine. :/ Most of my stuff is made up on the spot. :3

Thanks guys, I'll try to figure out some way to get my paintings on the site.

When I was 14 I was helping teach an art class. The instructor saw my work and asked to teach me for free! She wanted a student to be able to develop and work with. That was 5 years ago. Now I still work with my Art teacher occasionally, but for the most part I'm on my own. I did spend two years directly under her and then a year where I began to branch out on my own.

The drawings aren’t necessarily of my characters, I just like drawing them. I also do lots of animals, cars, scenery, etcetera. As a side note, Airianna isn’t my main character. She’s the sister of my main character Tierin (yeah I know, most girls don’t write men as their main characters). However I love her name and personality, so I chose her to represent me.

Thanks Amanda. I’m rather fond of it myself.

I have a lot more pictures I could add, but I have to get them into my computer first. Right now they're in my portfolio.

Well met! I'm Lady Eruwaedhiel (just Lady E or E for those who have trouble ;) ). I love your drawings. I draw a bit myself but I can't ever seem to make them look solid enough.

You'll have to post some more drawings and some of your story(ies) to Story Excerpts for Discussion. Do you draw fantasy things often (dragons, swords, etc)? The anvil is lovely. :)

Welcome! Tell us about your world and join the madness. :)

I do, to a certain extent. I am working on a very in-depth design for a sword hits that had two dragons wrapping around it. I’m trying to work out a dragonish creature (my story has Diegose in them, which are like dragons but different). It’s a lot harder than you would think!

Okay, unlike most of the other stories on the Forum my books don’t have a God figure in them. They are stories of good triumphing over evil, but not spiritual in the sense of a personal relationship with an all powerful being. I’m open to discussion or debates of whether or not you think that is appropriate.

My stories main character is a young man who is a member of the Caldarian race (the Caldarians are regular humans, nothing special). Through a series of events foretold long before his birth Tierin is destined to meet up with a very unique creature he has been told from youth was a monster. This creature helps him unlock his destiny and save a kingdom where all the good guys have gone into hiding. The people who have read it love it, so I suppose it can’t be too bad. I of course love it! The story is told over three books. The first one, Mark of the Diegose, (name is open for discussion, it doesn’t sound all that original) is basically completed. All I have to do is run back over my spelling and ensure there are no contradictions. The Sequel (Mark of Destiny?) is 3/4ths of the way done.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but I love my characters. They’re like family and I feel a great amount of responsibility towards them. I want them to be portrayed in their best possible lights, so anyone is free to make any kind of suggestion they would like.

If you have any more questions I’m more than happy to answer. I’m loving being plugged in with a group of people as crazy (or normal, depending on how you look at it) as me!

I’ll post the first chapter when I’m done with the dishes.

And I’ll continue to post my work as I get them scanned into my computer. Those were the only pieces I had readily available.

I have no idea why it says that. Maybe the pictures are too large? I don't know.

I love the last picture you posted. The hair sort of reminds me of one of my characters. :D

Hm... I think I've seen that one called Matured Talent somewhere... it looks familiar.

I saw it in a "How to Draw" book. It's not actually called Matured Talent. That was the name I gave it in order to sell it. It is one of the ones going to the Gallery.

As a side note, I have posted the Prologue to my book in the viewtopic.php?f=19&t=991 . I also did a thread giving a brief rundown of some of my races in my book. viewtopic.php?f=14&t=992 . Lastly I have posted a thread describing my Diegoseian Creature for all who are interested. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=993 . Click the links to read. :)

Hope you guys enjoy.

Totally was, but that's why I like the site! I'm known around my house for being a little loopy. ;) No worries.

I'm not sure if I posted this anywhere else, but I like your username, by the way. It's pretty! Any story or MC (main character) behind it? :D

Thank you Shawn! :) Yes Airianna is one of the main characters in my book. She is the sister of my main Character Tierin Valenshia (male). The other female characters in my book are Alannah and Enia (the I says its name), but Airianna’s name is my favorite. Plus I couldn’t name myself Tierin, now could I?

No welcome is ever late my Lady.

Thanks Shawn. It's a gift you guys, all credit goes to the Original Designer. I merely copy His work.

I've chatted with her within the first three days I joined, so I only know her through the Forum. We had a very nice conversation.

Thanks Elanhil, I will wear the name proudly ( ). :D I read fast (as a 14 year old farm hand I finished a twelve book series in a week. My Dad about died because he knew I was working most all day and he didn't know how he was going to keep me in books at that pace.), and contrary to what some people might think *CoughAmandaKCough* I type really fast too. And I don't always say a lot in my posts. Sometimes I just post.

Wow  (like during the lama conversation), which counts the same amount as my five page Diegose post.

And thank you for the birthday blessings. My Dad gave me a card that had a dog on the front whose eyes were popping out of his head. It read 'You're how old? That's like dead in dog years!' LOL. Gotta love Daddy.

By the way, on the post subject, when I went two days without posting anything my posts per day went down to a 10, so that number fluctuates pretty easily. My number is just a higher number of posts per day because I'm relatively newer to the forum, so that number doesn't have to be spread over years which would cause it to go down more.

NOOOO!!!

I forgot to wish you a happy birthday! Oops, so much for remembering. Anyways, happy birthday from me, all my characters... oh, and George. He made you a cake, by the way.

*A large, flaming dragon hands a little heart-shaped cake to Airianna. The cake is rather burnt and has withered chunks of cucumber on top. A very melted, red candle sits in the center of the cake.*

Sorry that the cake is burnt. George is over 200˚, so he usually melts things. It's one of the downsides of being a dragon made of fireworks.

Hope you had a happy birthday. What did you do on your special day?

I ate a brownie batter blizzard cake! Um! Tell George I sincerely thank him for his consideration, and it is the thought which counts, not what condition it is in. Thanks for remembering, Evening!

No problem! My family pretended they forgot my birthday. They didn't, but they had me going. However I did not give them the satisfaction they were hoping for. :D I didn't mention they had forgotten it; I just accepted it and moved on. I think my brothers were bummed. They wanted me to demand why they had forgotten so that when they surprised me it would be a 'ta-da, I told you so' moment.

Besides, you all have busy lives, too! It would be hard to catch everyone's birthdays.

I do appreciate it though, 6strings.

George says thanks for saying thanks, and he's sorry if the cake was too burnt. I made another cake for you, and George had nothing to do with it. :D Enjoy!

Those are so pretty! I like the Psalms one, the one with the chickadee, and the one with the pansy especially. :)

The Psalms one mural is highly deceiving. It looks very small, but, I actually had to get on and off a step stool to work on the top of the tree vs the bottom. A pastor asked me to do that one for him and his wife in their family room. There is actually a funny story behind that mural.

Ah, the story. I spent a lot of hours over at the Pastor's home doing his tree mural. As I was working the family's three year old was watching me all day. So, the next day (remember, I spent the previous day painting on their wall) this little tyke decided to take his Mother’s lipstick and draw on the wall under the coat rack (the mural was too high for him to reach). He became the family Picasso! The Mother didn’t find it amusing, but I sure did!

@6strings: Sort of... I've done a whimsical garden themed baby room with fairies before, and I have a fairy sketch. But no, I don't sit down and draw elves and ogres, trolls and Dragons. My art is part of my job, most people don't do fantasy stuff, so I haven't honed those talents. I occasionally do something fun just for me (the fairy sketch as an example), but I rarely have time to do fun sketches just for me anymore.

The Rainbow in the Storm- My Blog

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

That... is hilarious. I think one time someone in our family did that... It may have been my oldest younger brother. :) I have another similar story, but it is off topic, so I don't think I'll post it here. (Topic Control Police... ;))
