Because of where one of Melody's threads has merged to, I've decided to start this thread. So...What are your favorite princess bride quotes? Characters? Scenes? Anything related to the movie goes! :D

Edit: Favorite quote: "INCONCEIVABLE!!"

I already posted my favorite quote in Melody's thread, but I will post it here anyway. :)

Buttercup: You mock my pain!

Man in Black: Life is pain, highness! Anyone who says differently is selling something.

Of course, I've got more...

Buttercup: We'll never come out alive...
Wesley: Nonesense! You only say never because no one ever has!

Wesley: Not too bad.
Buttercup: ::amazed look::
Wesley: I'm not saying I want to build a summer home in here, but the trees are actually quite lovely.
::dumbfounded silence::

I wish I could quote the entire duel between the Man in Black and Inigo, but I don't remember all of it. So I shall quote my favorite two pieces, then try to drag myself from this thread. :)

Inigo Montoya: My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.
Man in Black: You've done nothing but study swordplay?
Inigo: Study it then practice later. [Is that how the line goes? I'm not sure] I work for Vizzini to pay the bills.

Inigo: Are you ready?
Man in Black: Whether I am or not, you've been more than fair.
Inigo: You are decent fellow. I hate to kill you.
Man in Black: You are a decent fellow. I hate to die.
Inigo: Begin.

Inigo: I must admit, you are better than I am!
Man in Black: Then why are you smiling?
Inigo: Because I know something you do not. I am not left handed!

Inigo: Who are you?
Man in Black: No one of consequence.
Inigo: Really, I must know.
Man in Black: Get used to being disappointed.

Ooops, that was four. Oh well. :D

Corrections are bold. Really. I'm disappointed in you. You should do better with those quotes.

(actually I'm not to sure about them myself. *blushing smilie*)

I really like the quote by Fezik. "it's not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise!! ::tosses rock::

Sorry! I haven't watched it in... ages. Not for a couple of months, I think. And I got most of them right, just wording off, if you're correct! Except the one I said I didn't know. :)

Our only copy is on VHS and our VCR bit the dust years and years ago, so it's been consigned to abandoned bins with the rest of the movies we don't own on DVD.... :(

But there was a time when me and my brother could pull off the entire duel on the cliff, except for the argument over who got to be the man in black. :D

I feel like buying it for you... and that's insane, because I barely know you. :P ( well, more like don't know you well, there was the whole waffle thing...)

As in the dialogue or the moves? It would be a cool swordfight to replicate. I should see if my brother and I can do it sometime... :)

Both! We weren't real good on the actual sword fight, partly because we don't have any cliffs of insanity, but we'd try!

My sister actually hates that movie. and she's not the only one I know who thinks it's the stupidest thing ever made and can't understand why we all like it so much. But she even has her favorite part: where the miracle man's wife is chasing him around with his fingers in his ears going: "Humperdink, Humperdink, Humperdink!"

I can't think of anything else to quote... it's been way too long since I've seen that movie....

"Do you have six fingers on your right hand?"
"Do you always start conversations this way?"

That movie is amazing. And so is the book, though it's the kind of movie that's so good people forget about the book.

"Mawwige. Mawwige is what bwings us together today...And then wooove. True woove, will follow, forewer."

"Inconcievable!!!" "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

"Do you happen to have six fingers on your right hand?" "Do you often begin conversations this way?"

Oh! I really like this movie, though I will say that I have not read the book.
My favorite part was what Celearas quoted:

"Mawwige. Mawwige is what bwings us together today...And then wooove. True woove, will follow, forewer."
:D

I love that quote too, though I can never seem to get it right! Hence I don't quote it much. :P I like the yelling ("Stand your ground!") that you can hear in the background. :)

Who else has read the book? Which one did you read?
My favorite quote is:

Westley, please forgive me.
What heinous crime have you committed now?
I got married. I didn't mean to.

I also really like:

*kiss*
What was that for?
Because you've always been so kind to me, and I won't be seeing you again for I'm killing myself once we reach the honeymoon suite.
Won't that be nice. She kissed me!

LOL! I love this movie...

Hello! My name is Prince Caspian! You killed my father. Prepare to die.

I swear, in the bedroom scene with Miraz when Caspian is all cry-ee and "Did you kill my father?" I saw Inigo. Well, maybe not. Inigo was much cooler than movie!Spanish!Not-blond!Caspian.

*on a slightly spamming note*

In Prince Caspian I was half expecting Miraz to say. "No, I AM your Father." *GRIN

LOL!

And on a less spamming note

my favorite quote from Princess Bride is

Vizzinni: "INCONCEIVABLE!"
Inigo: "You'd better stop saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it does."

I also really like

"You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The first is 'Never get involved in a landwar in Asia!' And the second only slightly less well known is, 'Never go up against a Sicilian when DEATh is on the line!' AHAHAHAHAHAHA--*falls over dead."

and

"There's an big difference between all dead and mostly dead. Mostly dead is slightly alive! When they're all dead, well there's only one thing you can do."

"What's that?"

"Look through their pockets for loose change."

and

"Killed by pirates is good!"

LOL! and so many more.:D I've started gushing and I've gotta stop!:P

I absolutely love this movie!!

Man in Black: [as he is unsuccessfully fighting Fezzik] Look, are you just fiddling around with me or what?
Fezzik: I just want you to feel you're doing well.

Miracle Max: You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles.

Inigo Montoya: That Vizzini, he can fuss.
Fezzik: Fuss, fuss... I think he like to scream at us.
Inigo Montoya: Probably he means no harm.
Fezzik: He's really very short on charm.
Inigo Montoya: You have a great gift for rhyme.
Fezzik: Yes, yes, some of the time.
Vizzini: Enough of that.
Inigo Montoya: Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?
Fezzik: If there are, we all be dead.
Vizzini: No more rhymes now, I mean it.
Fezzik: Anybody want a peanut?

Inigo Montoya: You are using Bonetti's Defense against me, ah?
Man in Black: I thought it fitting considering the rocky terrain.
Inigo Montoya: Naturally, you must suspect me to attack with Capa Ferro?
Man in Black: Naturally... but I find that Thibault cancels out Capa Ferro. Don't you?
Inigo Montoya: Unless the enemy has studied his Agrippa... which I have.

Inigo Montoya: Who are you?
Man in Black: No one of consequence.
Inigo Montoya: I must know...
Man in Black: Get used to disappointment.

Prince Humperdinck: Surrender.
Westley: You mean you wish to surrender to me? Very well, I accept.

Good memories... good memories. Now I want to watch the movie!

The Princess Bride is my most favorite movie of all time! I watched it last weekend! :D I used to watch it every week at the house my mom had a Bible study at, so my brother and I would set it up and play it.

QUOTES! QUOTES! QUOTES!

--Inigo Montoya: I donna suppose you could speed things up?
Man in Black: If you're in such a hurry, you could lower a rope or a tree branch or find something useful to do.
Inigo Montoya: I could do that. I have some rope up here, but I do not think you would accept my help, since I am only waiting around to kill you.
Man in Black: That does put a damper on our relationship.

--Westley: Why won't my arms move?
Fezzik: You've been mostly-dead all day.

--Inigo Montoya: Hello there. Slow going?
Man in Black: Look, I don't mean to be rude but this is not as easy as it looks, so I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't distract me.
Inigo Montoya: [apologetic] Sorry.
Man in Black: Thank you.

--Fezzik: We face each other as God intended. Sportsmanlike. No tricks, no weapons, skill against skill alone.
Man in Black: You mean, you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword, and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?
Fezzik: [brandishing rock] I could kill you now.
Man in Black: Frankly, I think the odds are slightly in your favor at hand fighting.
Fezzik: It's not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise.

--Fezzik: You just shook your head... doesn't that make you happy?
Westley: My brains, his steel, and your strength against sixty men, and you think a little head jiggle is supposed to make me happy?

WOOT! BEST MOVIE EVER!!!! <3 :D <3 :D <3

I didn't know there was a book! Have to look into that one. I thought the movie was hilarious. Inconceivable is by far the best word in the movie!

I like this scene where the grandpa is reading the story to the boy:

Grandpa: "She doesn't get eaten by the eels at this time."
Boy: "What?"
Grandpa: "The eel doesn't get her. I'm explaining this to you because you look nervous."
Boy: *looks down at clenched fists* "Oh...I wasn't nervous."
*Grandpa raises an eyebrow*
Boy: "Well, maybe I was a little bit...concerned, but that's not the same thing."
