Hey everyone! When I first joined this forum, I didn't get very involved. But I am happy to announce that I am returning and plan to stick around for a while! :D I am mostly just working on world building and character development at the moment, but I plan to get started on writing soon, maybe even NaNoWriMo, who knows. I have written short stories and other random things before, but nothing that I put very much work into. For those of you who don't know, I am also a member of the Rebelution Forum.

Anyway, I just felt like re-introducing myself. I'm looking forward to being involved in Holy Worlds more! :)

Your thread title is really, really, Star Wars -esque. Even Jaryn sounds like a Star Wars name. :D Cool.
(I think we need that scifi forum before this forum gets entirely overrun by uncontained scifi enthusiasm.)

Anyways, welcome back!

I really like your username. Can you tell us about it? Is Jaryn someone in something you've written? What does it mean?

Haha! Oh my.. It does sounds like Star Wars, doesn't it? It wasn't my intention, but it works. :)
Thank you all for your welcomes! I'm sure that I will get sucked in soon enough. ;)

Thanks! At first, it really had no signifincance at all. I knew a girl named Jaren, and I added it to my "Favorite Names" list. Then, when I joined this forum, I changed the spelling and made her a lady. ;) Actually, I looked up the name recently, the boy version of the name (which is the only version I could find. :? ) is spelled Jaron. It means "he will sing" or "he will cry out" in Hebrew. I thought that sounded pretty cool. :D I have only written a few scenes and short story type things about Jaryn. Nothing to talk about. I plan to write more about Jaryn, but I haven't gotten to know her very well yet. ;)

I know what you mean. I'm still exploring the characters of Eruheran and Dorodhiel (who were created right after I became a user). They don't have a story yet, but they've got ideas spinning in my head (and that's better than some of my other charries. :D)

Yup! That's me too. I am currently working on officially fractalling Jaryn. It's turning out pretty cool! :D

And thanks, Calenmiriel! :D

Yes, welcome back.

What kind of story are you working on for NaNoWriMo? Can you post in the story development thread?

I'm trying to prepare for Nano also and would love to be an encouragement to you and anyone else bracing for that marathon :)

Thank you both!!

I have a few different ideas as far as NaNoWriMo goes, but none of them are fully developed at all. Like I said, right now I'm fractalling Jaryn, and hoping that I'll figure out HER story. ;)
But I do have another plot/story idea spinning around in my head that I need some input on. Maybe I'll write out and post what I've been thinking so far and see what y'all think. I'll try to get that typed out soon. :D

Nanowrimo? Preparing? Preparing for nanowrimo? The only preparing I'm doing is to try to come up with a plot more than two days before it begins... and even that's not going so well. I'm tossing between the new adventures of Lucky Star and Return of the Fireborn, my sequal to last years novel. There are problems with both...

This is my first year of NaNoWriMo, and with my limited writing experience...I'll need to do all the preparing possible!! ;)
Janin, what genre would those be? I'm still deciding that as well.. Fantasy is so amazing, but I'm thinking of saving my best plot ideas for a more detailed and thought out novel. I'm debating whether or not to make my NaNoWriMo novel very intricate or not..but at the same time I don't want to slack off. Hmm.. At least I still have more than a month to think it all out! :)

Lucky Starr is scifi. It's actually a series by Isaac Asimov but he only wrote six books and I thought there should be more, so I decided to add to it. It's really fun and exciting, trying to copy someone else's writing style, and the really, really cool thing is that they're the one thing he wrote under a pen name. So if I use the same pen name they'll actually all be written by the same person. Kind of like Carolyn Keene. People are trying to tell me it's actually fanfic, but I don't think so. Writing sequels to other people's books is not fanfic, it's... something else. Because it has been done. And Star Trek and Star Wars novels aren't considered fanfic either, that I'm aware of. Hm... I should investigate the definitions. :D

My first Nanowrimo (last year) was Keepers of Dylann Book One: the Gatekeeper's Secret. It's fantasy, and it's the worlds biggest mess. It's so big of a mess that I've almost given up on ever getting the courage to revise it. However, my plans for the sequel are a little bit more organized. actually, much more organized, since I actually know what it's about which is way more than I can say for the first one. That one I pretty much made up as I went along in a way that no one has seen before. I basically just wrote words. But I learned a lot, so I don't consider it time wasted. But it makes me a little scared of the sequel...

Wow! That's enough off topic rambling for one post!!!
