| Post subject: | Favorite Adventures In Odyssey Quotes |
I notice that a LOT of people had posted on the Adventures In Odyssey thread, so I though I would make one for quotes. I found a list of a ton of them, so I'll start it by posting my favorites... (Bonus if they involve your favorite character. Any guesses what mine is? Jason: "So aren't you gonna say it?" Jack: "Say what?" Jason: "I told you so." Jack: "Okay. I told you so." Jason: "You didn't have to say it." Jack: "(Laughing) You just told me to. You feel better?" Jason: "No. Jack, uh, why don't you just tie me up and lock me in the closet?" Jack: "I didn't realize that was an option." -- "The Last Resort" Jason: "Hey! I'm an American! I've got connections in the American Embassy!" Louis: "I don't think anybody's listening." Jason: "Oh, they're listening all right. They just...don't care." -- "Shining Armor" Mustafa: "On you I've bestowed the greatest honor of all." Jason Whittaker: "Homecoming king?" Mustafa: *snorts* "American humor." --"A Name, Not A Number, Part 1" Jason: "They put everything on this Maxi-Deluxe Burger... except the burger!" Connie: "(I) told you!" -- "For Whom The Wedding Bells Toll" Jimmy Barclay: "Hey Stewart, welcome to the world." Donna Barclay: "Oh, Dad, he adorable." Jimmy: "He kind of look like me." Donna: "You need glasses, Jimmy. I said he's adorable." -- "Unto Us A Child Is Born" Jason: "Who are you?" Jellyfish: "Well, my friends call me Jellyfish, but you can call me Jellyfish." -- "The Return" Malachi: "You'd be wise to let go of me." Jason: "Oooh, big tough angel. Why? What'll you do if I don't?" -- "Malachi's Message" Tasha: "What are you doing here?" Jason: "I got your message. I'm here to rescue you." Tasha: "Oh I see. And you thought the best way to do that would be to get yourself captured." Jason: "You know me, always keep 'em guessing." -- A Name, Not a Number Rodney: "What's this thing?" Bart: "It's called a napkin." Rodney: "What's it for?" Bart: "Ya' wipe yer mouth on it." Rodney: "Why can't I use the back of my sleeve?" Bart: "'Cause you'll get it dirty." Rodney: "Won't I get the napkin dirty?" Bart: "Yeah, but it's washable." Rodney: "Well so's my sleeve." Bart: "Just tuck it in, Rodney." Rodney: "Okay, I'm tuckin', I'm tuckin'." -- "Family Values" Connie: "You're a boy. Which naturally means that you don't know the first thing about girls. I'm a girl, which..." Eugene: "...Naturally means that you know everything there is to know about boys and girls." Connie: "Right!" -- "Naturally, I Assumed..." "Space. One of the last places to be explored. These are the journeys of the Starship Aerobicise, on a five year mission to explore strange new worlds. To seek out new life with new spin off series, to saturate the market with action figures and plastic pointy ears. It’s star trip, starring William Shattered." -- "Hidden In My Heart" Captain: "Oh! The door’s locked. Shall we try to break it down?" Crock: "Well, my personal preference is to avoid hurtling myself into anything made out of wrought iron." --"Hidden In My Heart" Jason: "Connie, your logic is your own." Connie: "Thank you." -- "For Whom The Wedding Bells Toll" Crock: "How... illogical of them." -- "Hidden In My Heart" |

I was wanting to post a few quotes on here earlier this week, but I didn't have time. But here I go so hang tight... this could take a while. John Avery Whittaker: Sounds like your father simply knows that folks ought to store their treasures in heaven. Dylan: [to himself] Great... adults who compare notes. Alex: Alright, it's time for plan zebra, alpha, Charlie, fettuccine, water buffalo! Cal: Wow, sounds like a great plan! ~ Snow Day Alex: Are we warriors or are we wimps? Cal, Mandy, Nathaniel: We are wimps, Sir! ~Snow Day Wooton: Okay, answering machine message take number 31. Hello, you've reached Wooton Basset's answering machine. I'm home right now making an answering machine message, but I won't be here when you call, so if you'll kindly leave your number I'll call you back tonight, or maybe not tonight 'cause I have to take the Christmas tree down off my roof. Yes I know it's only May, but some of my neighbors are complaining, you know... (answering machine beeps) Aw man! Too long again? This is really hard! (phone rings) Wooton: Oh! Hello, you've reached Wooton Basset's ear. If you'll kindly say something then I'll say something back. Beep! Wooton: Talia! Breakfast is ready! (Banging gong) Talia Bassett: Really, Uncle Wooton is all that racket necessary? Wooton: Yeah, it's a breakfast gong. Talia Bassett: A souvenir from over seas? Wooton: Nope, Gongs'R'Us. Wooton: My name is Wooton, by the way. Joseph Fredrick Corelli: That's a funny name. Wooton: Yeah, I know. It's Old English for village by the wood. Joseph: Your parents were Old English? Wooton: No, they were just old. Wooton: Some of my best memories are from being a boy scout and doing all those fun "ing" things. Boating, camping, rafting, hiking, falling, hurting, bleeding, and yelling for help. It was the most fun I've ever had! Connie Kendall: Do you think God has called you to preach? Wooton Bassett: Oh, I don't know; let me check my messages. Rodney Rathbone: Oh yeah, and Kennedy didn't know anything about the plot to kill John Wilkes Booth, Jr. either. Alex Jefferson: There was absolutely nothing historically accurate about that sentence. |

Oh wait... forgot some. Whit: Nick, do you have a bucket on your head? Nick: That’s not important right now. What’s important is… Oh, never mind. Rodney: What is that? Bart: Classical music. It aids the digestion. Rodney: I think it's workin'. I'm startin' to get sick. Wooton Bassett: Do you see what I see? Bernard Walton: This is no time for Christmas songs, Wooton. |

Rodney: "Okay, I'm tuckin', I'm tuckin'." -- "Family Values" Oh my goodness! We had this one on audio cassette in Brasil. It was absolutely my favoritest quote in the world! (It was also the only one I recognized of all the ones you guys mentioned.) "Don't call me pop!" Man, I haven't seen this show in ages. Those cassette tapes I mentioned were probably the last time I listened to it. @Celestria: Looks like Wooton is one of your favorite characters? eruheran |

Ha ha! Those are great. @ eruheran: That one is one of my MANY favorites... You can listen online (for free!) at http://www.whitsend.org/radio/. If you can, I recommend listening to the one tomorrow. It is really good. I am a fan of the episodes with parental warnings, BTW. (This one does not have a warning...) I second the opinion that Celestria's favorite character is Wooten. Any guesses on my favorite? |

Wooten Basset Quote: "I'm becoming a verb in Odyssey. When their kids are doing something silly, parents are always tell them to stop 'Wooton' around!" Jason: "So aren't you gonna say it?" Jack: "Say what?" Jason: "I told you so." Jack: "Okay. I told you so." Jason: "You didn't have to say it." Jack: "(Laughing) You just told me to. You feel better?" Jason: "No. Jack, why uh why don't you just tie me up and lock me in the closet?" Jack: "I didn't realize that was an option." And this was one of my ALL TIME favorites! Tom: "Say, Whit, got any special plans for tonight?" Whit: "Well, as a fact, I do have something planned." Tom: "Ah ha, got some company coming over huh? Somebody special maybe?" Whit (laughs): "Well, In a way it's company. I plan to spend the evening with a cup of hot cocoa & Robert Louis Stevenson." Tom: "The writer? He's coming to your house?" Whit: "No, no, no, no Tom. He's not actually coming here. You see, he's dead." Tom: "Dead? I didn't even know he was sick." Whit: "No, no, no. He lived in the 1800's." Tom: "Oh yeah, that's about 3 block's north form here, ain't it?" Whit: "Oh no, I mean he's be dead a long time." Tom: "Well, he's not going to be much for conversation, is he?" Whit: "Well, I'm not gonna talk to him." Tom: "Well, then whatcha having him over for?" Whit: "Tom, listen, I was talking about a book. A Robert Louis Stevenson book." Tom: "Isn't that kinda rude?" Whit: "Whaddya mean?" Tom: "Well, your gonna spend the whole evening reading, how ya gonna pay any attention to your guest?" Whit: "Oh, Tom." Tom: "Oh I get it. You're gonna read out loud. Is that it?" Whit: "Oh, never mind, Tom." And this one too. Whit: "I can prove to you logically that I'm not even here." Kid: "Come on! You're here! I can see you." Whit: "No, I'm not. You want me to prove it?" Kid: "Yeah." Whit: "Okay. Now, I'm not it Cincinnati, am I?" Kid: "No." Whit: "And I'm not in Buffalo, am I? Kid: "No." Whit: "And I'm definitely not in Detroit. You agree?" Kid: "I agree." Whit: "Okay. If I'm not in Cincinnati, Buffalo, or Detroit, I must be someplace else, right? Kid: "Right." Whit: "Well, if I'm some places else, I can't be here, can I?" Kid: "Awwww!" |

I love to listen to Adventures in Odyssey! I like a lot of quotes from it. I really like the conversation below: Bart: I got the best insurance this side of the Mississippi! This is probably one of my favorite episodes: Whit: What's wrong Connie? Connie: My car stalled again! In the middle of an intersection... during rush hour! Eugene: Well, luckily in Odyssey, rush hour consists of a truck, a bike and a dog with a limp. Whit: Hmm... Are you having problems with your car, Connie? Connie: Problems? More like tragedies! So my car stalls, and the light turns green. A whole line of cars behind me starts honking, people are yelling! Someone even throws a donut at me, cream filled! ~*~ This is the scene where Grady (I'm not sure that's how he spells it) asks Whit for a job so he can buy a nice alarm clock for his mom for Christmas... Connie: Hm if I didn't have an alarm clock I'd be late every day. Eugene: You are late every day. (Whit and Grady talking.) Connie: Excuse me, I am not late every day, Eugene. Eugene: You were late today, Connie. Connie: My car stalled. Eugene: And yesterday... Connie: My curling iron caught on fire. Eugene: Hmm and the day before? Connie: My conditioner wouldn't rinse! Eugene: And the day before that...? Connie: *sighs loudly* ~*~ I might add more later. Both of these quotes are from A Christmas Conundrum. |

I LOVE THIS THREAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Uncle Wally: You heard the man Jay, pull that switch! Jay: That was no man. That was Matthew. Nelson: My Dad says that when there's a perplexing problem, sometimes the best thing to do is walk away. That's what he did with our shed. Matthew: Did it help? Nelson: I don't know... Its been sitting unfinished for three years. Jimmy: There's only one problem, what to do with the other ticket... Mr. Barcley: Oh yah, there are five tickets and only four of us. Laurence: Uh, guys? Mrs. Barcley: It would have to be someone close to us... Laurence: Have I ever told you how much you mean to me? Donna: And someone who appreciate the educational value of the trip... Laurence: My next school project is on Hawaii flora and fauna. If only I had some samples... Jimmy: I know! Laurence! Laurence: Yes! Jimmy: Can you think of anybody? Eugene: A journey to myself! Bernard: Sounds like a pretty short trip. *is inspired to listen to adventures in odyssey right now!* ~Aleena P.s. My favourite character is Jay... |

"I pledge 12 mugs, and they all say World's Best Grandpa!!!" ~ Jack Allen "Jason: Remember, judge, Plato was wrong. Plato! Now there's a name from the past! Connie: Yeah, the ancient past!" ~ Memories of Jerry (LOVE that episode!!!) "Jason Whittaker: The name's Bond. James Bond." "Mustafa: We know who you are, Tasha Forbes, Agent 2362. Tasha: Agent? I-i don't know what you're talking about! Mustafa: Oh really? Abdul! (something in I don't know what language) Abdul: Here it is, Mustafa. Mustafa: Why would a toy shop need a subsonic transmitter? Tasha: It's cheaper than direct dialing? Mustafa: Get her! Tasha: *struggles* Let go of me, you big ape!" "Mover: Anything else Mr. Whittaker? Jason Whittaker: Eh, just that box. Oh and the phone. Here let me unplug it. There ya go. Where do you want it. Mover: Uh top of da box. (Phone rings) Didn't you just unplug that? Jason Whittaker: Uh yeah. This happens sometimes. It's a really weird phone. (Picks up and hangs up phone) There that should take care of.. (Phone rings Jason chuckles) Mover: Like you said. Weird. Jason Whittaker: Why don't you just take the box out to the truck and get going? I'll just keep the phone with me. Mover: Yeah, sure. Whatever you say. I don't think it's the phone that's weird. Donavon: *chuckling* Jason: Don't you ever get tired of doing that, Donavan? Donavon: Never. Jason: What do you want? Donavon: Just dropping by to say so-long. Jason: 'Dropping by'? Where are ya? Donavon: Right behind ya. Jason: *reacts startled* You'd think the agency's deputy director would have better things to do than play games. Donovan: Life can't be all paperwork 1131, oh, oh I guess I can't call you that anymore can I? Jason: Nope. Now I'm a name, not a number. Donavon: Aye, aye. A name that's moving to Odyssey. Must be a pretty special place to be taking away my best event analyst. Jason: It is special. And nice and quiet. I'm looking forward to a little peace." "Jason: *groans, waking up to a clock chiming* Tasha? Tasha: Easy now! You have a hard head, but it's not that hard. Jason: Are you alright? Tasha Forbes: You're the one who got bashed on the head, and you're asking me if I'm alright? I'm fine. Now would you mind telling me what you're doing here? Jason: I got your message. I'm here to rescue you. Tasha Forbes: Oh I see. And you decided the best way to do that was by getting yourself captured. Jason: You know me, always keep em guessing." "Regis Blackgaard: Wh-who is this? Tasha Forbes: He's a friend of mine Jason Whittaker. Regis Blackgaard: Whittaker? Jason Whittaker: What's the matter? Regis Blackgaard: Oh I'm sorry. It's just that I knew a Whittaker once. He was from a small town you probably never heard of, Odyssey. Jason Whittaker: You know my father? Regis Blackgaard: John Whittaker is--? Jason Whittaker: My father!" "Regis Blackgaard: (To Jason) Unfortunately, your father and I didn't always see eye to eye. In fact we usually ended up on opposite sides. I regret that. But there were things he didn't know at the time." "Jason: What about me? Mustafa: On you I have bestowed the greatest honor of all. Jason: Homecoming king? Mustafa: *snorts* American humor..." "Henchman: Here is the syringe Mustafa. Tasha Forbes: Syringe? Jason Whittaker: My allergy shot. How thoughtful of you. Mustafa: Very amusing. Let us see how amusing you are with the virus coursing through your veins!" (all of those were from A Name, not a Number Part 1. That episode is soooooo quotable!!! "Eugene Meltsner: Are you searching for something? Jason Whittaker: Uh yeah, a phone jack. I need to plug in my phone. Eugene Meltsner: I don't believe this room has one, however I believe there is a phone down the hall in the office. Jason Whittaker: Well I like my phone better. I know that sounds strange, but you know, it fits my ear, and it's well nicer, and it's it's.. Eugene Meltsner: (Phone rings) It's ringing. Jason Whittaker: It's also kinda weird. It does that sometimes." (From A Name, not a Number Part 2) *also loves this thread* I like Jay a lot, too! |
