Well, I am glad I was finally able to join. I have been viewing this site as a guest for while and am very glad to join your ranks. For the next few lines I will just give you random information that you may or may not enjoy:
My favorite color is purple
I am 16
I love Tolkien
I share his distaste for overt allegory
I have no particular regard for Lewis
I have read Batson's The Door Within trilogy.
I love dragons.
I am a fan of wizards.
I have completed my first book (107,000 words or so) and am seeking a publishing agent.
You are welcome to ask any other questions. This is the first time I have joined a site like this one anywhere on the net, except my school classes. I am a junior in high school, and am a very proud home-schooler.

Welcome! We're thrilled to have you. My favorite quote from Lewis is his thoughts on allegory:

Quote:
"I think that many confuse 'applicability' with 'allegory'; but the one resides in the freedom of the reader, and the other in the purposed domination of the author." J.R.R. Tolkien

Congratulations on finishing your novel! How is the publication process going?

Looking forward to talking with you more!

Welcome welcome welcome! We are so glad to have you sir. I am rather a fan of Lewis, having learned much from him, but I shall not hold your disregard against you. :D
May your journey among us be blessed. I am glad you finally joined!

Be careful of your thoughts; guard your mind, for your thoughts become words. Be guarded when you speak, for your words turn into action. Watch what you do, for your actions will become habits. Be wary of your habits, for they become your character. Pray over your character; strive to mold it to the image of Christ, because your character will shape your destiny.

Ideas can germinate from the smallest seeds. Collect those seeds, and let them grow in the back of your mind. You may be surprised by what finally blooms.

When God takes something from your grasp, he's not punishing you. Instead, He’s opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Works in progress:

The Diegosian Mark, 115,600 words (Preparing for Publication)
The Diegosian Rider, 121,400 words (Finished)
The Diegosian Warrior, 15,000 (In Progress)

Hello, hello, hello! Elen sila lumenn omentielvo!

Delightful to have you joining us! It sounds like you'll fit in just great here. :D

What is your finished story about?

Nessa- She's given up the veil, the vows she'd sworn, abandoned every effort to conform. Without a word to anyone she's gone her way alone, a dove escaping back into the storm.

Azriel- And who do you think you are, running round leaving scars, collecting your jar of hearts, and tearing love apart? You're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul, so don't come back to me. Don't come back at all...

Welcome to Holy Worlds.

Is your book the first in a series?

Jonathan Garner: it is in a way a part of a series. It is the first I wrote, but the history of the Red World extends very far into the past and for a good ways into the future. I intend to surround this first one with legends and factual histories for the hundreds of years the preceded this book and the years which will follow.

Those who like my username: It is the name of one of the four principal characters of my book. It is pronounced RAY-en if anyone was wondering. I just loved the spelling with the crazy vowels next to each other.

Willow Wenial: What is your finished story about? The greatest demon lord of the past millenia or so is beginning his assault on the South and nobody seems to care. Most men don't believe he exists because the world is in a dark age. Four men do believe, and they most mobilize the resistance movement with conflicts coming from without and within. "Out of the ashes a fire shall be woken..." [LOTR paraphrase]

Vilissë: I love your quote. If it is LOTR I love it. I have read and loved the big three of Middle-earth: The Silmarillion, The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, and I've seen the movies.

Raven of the Wood: Thanks for recommending me to this place. This should be fun.

I officially love your signature! I defy almost anyone who has a life to be more a fan of LOTR than I! Another interesting fact is that if the w in your user name were an e, my user name would be a rearrangement of your letters.
