In conjunction with its sister threads,
Crazy Fantasy Writer, and
Crazy Holy Worlder, I thought it would be nice to have a crazy bookworm thread when I realized my librarian has learned my reading tastes within the last month due to their ongoing book sale. What are your marks of a bookworm?
You know you are a crazy bookworm when...
You buy books from your library rather than checking them out.
Your librarian comments that she knew you would like the books you selected as soon as she put them on the shelf.
You have as much space set aside in your room for shelving as you can afford to use without living in a cupboard.
Most of your books do not reside on the shelf because there is no space.
You get rid of clothing to make room for a book drawer, or more room in the closet.
You bury your face in the pages when you are alone just to enjoy the bookish aroma.
You collect any books that were left behind at the end of school, even if that meant owning eight copies of the same Latin dictionary (you never know when you might need one).
You could live in a shack or a hole in the ground as long as it has that personal library with wall-to-wall shelves and a wing-back chair (bonus points for the rolling ladder).
You die on the inside if you ever tear or fold a page.
Your week is ruined if something spills on a book.
You carry books around like children carry teddy bears.
You have no money until you see a book that you have to have.
You get restless when you are on a reading binge and can't find something to read.
You read dictionaries, textbooks, and books on topics that don't even interest you, just to slake your thirst until you can find something more desirable.
You get distracted from activities because you were reading the manual.
You actually felt a need for a crazy bookworm thread.
