Not even kidding. Please, don't ask questions If you want to help a bro out with his homework, download this document and answer the questions therein. Attachment: If you can do it sometime before Tuesday the 24th morning then I will forever remember you as one of those people who helped me get away with procrastinating my homework [ED: also available in block of text below, if you no likey downloading thingies] Just for reference, when I say “personal technology” I mean gadgets or software that are meant to be regular-user/consumer friendly, like a smart phone or email service. How often do you find yourself working with personal technology? In a normal day, how many different hardware devices are you likely to use? How many software? Would you describe a recent instance where you were frustrated trying to use personal technology? Could you now describe a recent time when you were fully satisfied by your experience with personal technology? When you encounter a device or software item that fits your preferences well, what are some characteristics it is likely to have? Could you describe the last time you thought to yourself, “I wish I had a way to use technology to solve this?” To finish, I would like to do a few word association questions. I will give you a prompting word or phrase, then you just let ‘em fly with the first words or phrases that come to your mind. Three hardware and at least five software.Quote: Would you describe a recent instance where you were frustrated trying to use personal technology? Nothing comes to mind. Quote: Could you now describe a recent time when you were fully satisfied by your experience with personal technology? Basically all the time.Quote: When you encounter a device or software item that fits your preferences well, what are some characteristics it is likely to have? Easy to use, but versatile enough I can accomplish a lot of things with it. Quote: Could you describe the last time you thought to yourself, “I wish I had a way to use technology to solve this?” Can't think of any. To finish, I would like to do a few word association questions. I will give you a prompting word or phrase, then you just let ‘em fly with the first words or phrases that come to your mind. Reiyen wrote: How often do you find yourself working with personal technology? I'm on my laptop around the clock.Quote: In a normal day, how many different hardware devices are you likely to use? How many software? What do you define as the difference there?Quote: Would you describe a recent instance where you were frustrated trying to use personal technology? None come to mind at the moment. I'll get back to you when I'm mad.Quote: Could you now describe a recent time when you were fully satisfied by your experience with personal technology? Well, I'm not really the five-star, fully satisfied type... There's always room for improvement... I'll have to get back on that one when I'm pleasantly elated.Quote: When you encounter a device or software item that fits your preferences well, what are some characteristics it is likely to have? Not touch screen, decently established spellcheck dictionary, isn't overly complex to understand, but doesn't treat me like an idiot, good word processor, tengwar as a font option, a screen that can go very dim or a background that is comfortably dark, stable internet access, good video capabilities.Quote: Could you describe the last time you thought to yourself, “I wish I had a way to use technology to solve this?” I want a decent, free application for making a family tree. I always get the pieces in the way of each other and it would be cool to put pictures in the shapes.Quote: To finish, I would like to do a few word association questions. I will give you a prompting word or phrase, then you just let ‘em fly with the first words or phrases that come to your mind. Okay.Quote: Smartphone Distraction. Young whippersnappers.Quote: App Is it free?Quote: Android (as in the technology company) They have the app for Alchemy. I miss that game. It was uninstalled and I only have a laptop so I can't play it.Quote: Apple (as in the technology company) My computer hates you and your iTunes.Quote: Laptop Best friend. I need a new one. I don't like that Windows 8 works like a tablet interface, so I don't want to buy a new one. I really should back up my hard drive...Quote: Tablet Handy, but annoying. My students have their text books on them, so they think they can get away with watching anime in class and taking selfies and I won't notice. -_- Finding some way to lock fun things would be amazing.

Reiyen wrote: How often do you find yourself working with personal technology? Five out of six days, maybe. Reiyen wrote: In a normal day, how many different hardware devices are you likely to use? How many software? Three hardware. Three software. (Yeah, I only usually use one kind of software on each hardware system.)Reiyen wrote: Would you describe a recent instance where you were frustrated trying to use personal technology? The internet connection quit, and now it only works when it wants to. Reiyen wrote: Could you now describe a recent time when you were fully satisfied by your experience with personal technology? There has been no time when I have been fully satisfied, there is always some annoying thing that I have to remember to look out for when I use it. Finding the LibreOffice Sections feature had me pretty close to satisfied, though. It obsoleted one of the applications I used to use. Reiyen wrote: When you encounter a device or software item that fits your preferences well, what are some characteristics it is likely to have? It doesn't leave stuff off because 'nearly no one uses it anyway', it allows me to change the font size smaller, it has margin and whitespace, and it is easy to use. Reiyen wrote: Could you describe the last time you thought to yourself, “I wish I had a way to use technology to solve this?” I want to google search my notebooks.
