ElloHay! My handle is Lord Herobrine and I was introduced to this nifty forum idea by Varon, who I met on a college camp this summer. I'm a registered writer on fanfiction dot com (which could be a good thing or a bad, depending) and I have written several stories on that site. My proficiency in writing stretches to a typical English 4 class, but is shoddy in some places. I enjoy writing fanfiction and partaking in many numerous fandoms that I find haphazardly across the intra-webs. I'm an avid manga and anime fan, and am also a poetry lover. My fav poetry author has to be a split between Walt Whitman and Edgar Allan Poe. I look forward to many happenings, but I hope not too many. Distractions abound, and I would prefer this not be one of them. |

Miss Elizabeth wrote: Welcome, Lord Herobrine! I'm curious, is there a story behind your username? If so, what is it? What genre do you write? What world(s) do you write fanfiction for? My Handle comes from the creepy pasta Herobrine in the Minecraft Lore. It's either a dead miner with white eyes, the Anti-player, or the creator's long dead brother. I'm not into one specific genre, but I don't write romance, mystery, or something along those lines. I do write a sort or adventure and short drabbles in minimalist tones. My main story is an adventure/family genre. I have written a crossover of Minecraft/Kill La Kill, Bleach/Kill La Kill, and just plain Bleach. |

Besides poems, go read the Cask of Almantillado. It's one of Poe's short stories. |

Hm, interesting. I've read it twice, and I'm not quite sure I understand it entirely yet. * laughs at self * I may be trying to see more than he was writing. Lord_Herobrine wrote: Are there any interesting forum games that are open and free to go one? We don't play many games, mainly just a few fun threads in General Discussion like the Rate the Name game and the Either or game. We make threads for character role-playing as well. |

He plans revenge on this one guy, pulls him down, all the while making allusions and thoroughly enjoying it, then walls him up, still enjoying it. It's rather sick if you think about it, but on the other hand, well written. Essentially, he plots revenge, and gets away with it. ------------------------------------------ Character roleplaying? Do tell. |

OK, I get that, then. Some of the dialogue was throwing me off, I wasn't sure about the drift of it. It is skilled, yes. The way he made his story short and still effective is something I can learn from, since I'm always trying to write good shorts. Thanks for the recommendation. I'm enjoying his poetry too, especially his 'Fairyland' and 'Dreamland'. Lord_Herobrine wrote: Character roleplaying? Do tell. We have a room for it somewhere around here. There's an intro thread where you have to introduce all your characters, and there's a general thread where anyone can do pretty much anything, but if you want to do something a bit more specific then you can start your own thread or join someone else's. |

Forum Index Fantasy Fireside Poetry The index for the poetry is at the top once inside the poetry sub-forum in the Fireside. We have been rearranging: you used to be able to go to it straight from the Forum Index. You should post your Shakespearean Sonnet there! |

You probably know more about roleplaying than I do, then. I've only done it a couple of times so far, but it definitely is fun. Do you usually use your own characters for roleplaying? I like 'Jinchuriki'. I know nothing about Bleach or Kill la kill, but I enjoyed how you portrayed the characters. |

Do you usually use your own characters for roleplaying? On occasion, I make my own. I have a tremendously bad habit of talking to myself and daydreaming, which at my age isn't... proper. On the other hand, when I do that, I fully immerse myself into my character, their physical actions, emotions, and everyone else around them. A long time ago, J.K. Rowling noted that on several occasions she imagined her characters walking down train corridors as if they were real. I act out the physical motions of my character too, though I am a bit lacking in realistic character development. I have theories on how they might work and how my characters would deal with trauma and loss, but they may not be entirely believable. Mistress Rwebhu Kidh wrote: I like 'Jinchuriki'. The Bleach/Kill La Kill is something that I wrote off on a whim one time. It's the second crossover of its kind; I know the author of the first one and have had conversations for some time. |

It's not entirely proper at any age, so you might as well forget about it and enjoy the habit, I think. That's what I do. Lord_Herobrine wrote: On the other hand, when I do that, I fully immerse myself into my character, their physical actions, emotions, and everyone else around them. A long time ago, J.K. Rowling noted that on several occasions she imagined her characters walking down train corridors as if they were real. Yes, a lot. I think I do it too much, and freak out my siblings by making incongruous face expressions. It's worst when I have a character that is going through pain or mutilation or some such thing, because it hurts. Physically, sometimes. Lord_Herobrine wrote: I have theories on how they might work and how my characters would deal with trauma and loss, but they may not be entirely believable. That's one of the few up-sides to going through trauma and loss yourself, I've found... you can test your psychology theories. * wry grin *If you want to join (or start) a role-play with one of your characters, I'd love to join you and there are others hanging out in that room too that would probably join (though I admit I can be a bit late on replying sometimes). Thanks Varon? What's the limit to the absurdity of an RP character. Like, no fourth wall breakers, no one with absurd amounts of plot armor, etc... |

There aren't any that I'm aware of. None of it is very serious RP, so the fourth wall gets broken all the time, and bizarre things happen on a normal basis. |
