I'm excited to have found an active Christian forum. I am a homeschooling mother of 6, the oldest of which is "Stormcry". Our family loves fantasy and studying God's Creation. I am also an eBook & Social Media Promoter. I look forward to enjoying the creativity and inspiration God has blessed you all with. :D

Welcome, Welcome to this fair land. Plenty of fantasy fans here as well as a Sci-fi and Historical Fiction section. Several members are published and are working on projects. What are your favorite books, Music groups and what platforms do you use for promotions?

Welcome to HW, ma'am. :) I'm sure you'll love it here! We're friendly folk, besides the occasional roleplayed swordfight. Or the few times a Borg has invaded the chatroom and assimilated everyone. *grins*

I assume your favourite genre to write in is fantasy? Do you have any favourite authors, or too many to count? ;)

Again, welcome! We're happy to have you here!

...the hard questions!
I actually write scientific non-fiction right now. My first is in review right now and will release the end of this month. (3/14)
Favorites:

Books: Pilgrim's Progress
Dracula
Louisa May Alcott
Charles Dickens
Corrie ten Boom
Jane Austen
& nearly anything very, very old (before 1800's)
Of course Tolkien, CS Lewis, (& I have to admit Anne McGaffery's Pern books even though they aren't Christian in the least. The Dolphins & Harper Hall books are the cleanest and most fun IMHO...)

Music: I LOVE the Renaissance Lute & Flamenco Guitar music.
Traditional Irish & American Folk
Country (I'm picky though. I like an old sound with clean lyrics.)
Some of the new YouTube pop that is fun, clean and encouraging.
Hymns, especially acapella (I love singing with my children, when they can put up with my toneless voice...)

Platforms: facebook, twitter, google+, & pinterest (so far)
(We had a really fun launch party on fb for Stormcry's new novel...)

Always looking for new Blog Reviewers... :-)

Her favorite thing to do when she has free time is to yell my first, middle, and last name, and then to blame me for something that I positively did not... very possibly did not..... maybe only had a little to do with causing.

We are the Borg. Existence, as you know it, is over. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Resistance is futile

Y'all, we don't want to scare the poor lady off. ;) Introducing her to Jem's caterpillars and the Borg already? My goodness! Although, I suppose that if she has 6 kids, she's probably used to a little craziness.

It will be good to have another mother here for all these children...

Little preparation for the disturbingly creative insanity of the Holy Worlders... *crescent moon grin *

Thanks for the Welcome everyone! Wow, I'm off for a few days and look at all the fun I miss!

Yes, with 6 creative youngsters, I'm used to "crazy". (resistance IS futile!!!)

Freetime? I DO have some (or MAKE some) occasionally, (when Stormcry is actually behaving herself!)... I'm also a midwife & seamstress. I love scrapbooking & all kinds of crafting & creativity. When I get a wild hair, I rearrange the house and paint walls. (You see, since I'm an adult, I can color on the walls on purpose and just call it creativity!) I like making historical costumes for me and the children. I've been known to wear a regency (Jane Austin) dress to the grocery store, tiara and all. Stormcry sometimes gets caught wearing a medieval dress I made her several years ago.

My favorite Jane Austen book is probably Northanger Abbey. I could see Stormcry in a similar silly situation, getting herself scarred with her imagination!

My favorite Charles Dickens is probably The Old Curiosity Shop.

I write lots of things, but Astronomy, Physics, & Biblical Psychology are my favorite topics.

My new book is The Star Chronicles - A Bible Based Study of the Stars
http://foglemanforerunner.com/homeschoo ... hronicles/

It's in review right now & will be available in a few weeks.

Anymore questions?

Tee-hee-hee... If only you knew the HALF of the craziness.
Imagine 6 kids after a medieval weaponry lesson, going outside, making bows and arrows and spears, and then spearing gourds, painting faces on them, and dancing around a late night bonfire like head hunters while everyone else if gone to a football game. o.O Believe me, I had NOTHING to do with it.... okay, maybe I suggested it.... but that was it, I swear.

I know the feeling. I haven't read the book, but I watched the movie with Dawnita, and about half way through I was like "Whoa, whoa! TOO many similarities! Even our name is the same! Deja-Vu alert! RUN!"
