:book: So i was reading and i ran across something in 2 Corinthians 9 that spoke to me. It will tie into writing so bear with me. :dieshappy:

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whover sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor his righteousness endures forever." Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous in every occasion, and through your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the need's of Gods people but is overflowing in many expressiongs of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the Gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:6-15 (NIV)

So my question to you...Where is your heart in writing? Are you writing to your full ability? Are you cutting corners just to get done? In our service to our king as writers, artists, etc.... we are not only meeting the needs of others, but we are thanking God for the gift we have by using it for him! Sowing seeds.... you sow seed of encouraging others, helping them with their stories, building their worlds, etc.... You will get it in return. Holy Worlds is like this and I LOVE IT! Many of us, struggle to write sometimes (life gets in our way...like my computer crisis for me today) but that is a road block that i know soon will be conquered one way or another. Our mission is to get his word out that people understand it through stories, that feeds them. :D

Yesterday, i hit a rough patch in my story. I sought the Lord for the answer on where to go from there. My characters found a hell on earth, and they are trying to figure out how to free the children that are slaves to the demons there. Well i didnt what to use a supernatural thing or something because i dont want it to become an 'escape hatch' making my story "DRY". (someone on holyworlds podcast wrote something on this). So i was trying to think of another way of going about it. I told him that Lord you gave me the seed to write this ....i need you to help me grow in it. And then it hit me on where to go from that scene.
Becareful where you sow your seeds, if they are sown where they wont take root, then it will be harder for you in the long run to write. When you sow your seeds in the genre which you are wanting to write, ask the Lord to show you how to be effective, ask him what message does he have for you to relay and he will show you.

(As for being careful on where to sow your seeds)
Thieves will come and try to steal your stories, they do this alot through contests, they will compile them and make them their own. DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE CONTEST BEFORE YOU ENTER!

When you write, write to your fullist capacity! If you dont think that is good enough then ask God to broaden your capacity. You cant write without God! You cant do art without God! Through the creations that we do we are reflecting God and bringing glory and honor for him.

Anyway those are my thoughts on this scripture on how it pertains to writitng. How does it speak to you? Not just in writing, but in everyday life? You reap what you sow. ;)

Love and Blessings to you KEEP GOING! :dieshappy:
