| Post subject: | Hi There! |
Hello there! Since I'm new here, I thought I would come over and introduce myself. My username is Lady in Waiting, but in the real world I'm known as Laura. This isn't my first encounter with Holy Worlds, as I heard about many years ago, over at the Rebelution forums. Nonetheless, I'm happy to be here and look forward to getting to know you all! My journey to find this place is quite an interesting one. I joined the Rebelution forums only months before becoming ill, with two different things. One is CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and the other is POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). God moved mountains as I made friends at the Rebelution, and it's cool to see how He worked. Going from super active to not at all was a huge smack in the face for me. But God provided in many ways, and I know will continue to provide. I had been writing several years before getting sick, but it wasn't for God's glory. It was all to satisfy my desires. Lord willing, with the rediscovery of this forum, I will be able to continue to make the shift from writing for myself and others, to writing to reveal God's love and grace. For the most part, I've stuck to real world writing, but I'm looking to expand into Fantasy, as it is incredibly intriguing to me! Besides writing, I enjoy knitting and crocheting, spending time with Family, and rediscovering God's love for me and everyone around me! That's all for now! In Christ, Lady in Waiting |

I'd like to think I enjoy creating because our Heavenly Father is quite the Creator! Writing real life stuff just seems too...restrictive (to me anyway; it might be thrilling for someone else). Fantasy brings a whole new dimension to writing. I mean, if I go outside right now, there won't be any dragons to befriend and I most certainly won't be able to fly, so... But in my bits of writing, if I want someone to be able to fly, they can! And that's just awesome. |

Kyana Lightwing wrote: :) Who are some of your favorite authors and/or artists? I like C.S. Lewis a lot, particularly for his book Mere Christianity. Though I've never read it through, what I have read is great! I've had some issues though, with bits of the Chronicles of Narnia, that I really need to seek God out for. In all honesty, I'm a newb when it comes to Fantasy. I've never read Lord of the Rings *don't shoot!* though I think I'd like to. What are some good Fantasy authors, that you would recommend? |

What are some good Fantasy authors, that you would recommend? What?! Recommend? Hmm, I'd say Bryan Davis, Andrew Peterson, ND Wilson, JM Christian (although he only has one book out so far), Susan Cooper, Frank Peretti and Trista Vaporblade (another one book only)... I could list a bunch more, but that would be a bit too much |

I've been working through that sort of thing myself just now. It's very important to know why you're writing.... * coughs * Perhaps this might seem an odd question, but I ask it of every writer named Laura I meet, so.... have you ever heard of something called The Writing Endeavor? * hopeful * |

Its brilliance is in it simplicity in explaining profound truths I think. Lady in Waiting wrote: I've had some issues though, with bits of the Chronicles of Narnia, that I really need to seek God out for. We do have a theology thread I believe. More than welcome to post there. Might get some answers that way |
