My friends, brothers and sisters, I have recently been told something revealed to me through my devotions. Its an ugly thing and can easily destroy what we are trying to do. It falls in line with the dragon procrastination. This thing is a devious thing lurking around in our lives, not just in our everyday life but in our writing life as well. What is it? Excuses! This black blob of goo seeps in covering our time and opportunities to write.
And its high time we defeat this thing once and for all. Here is how.
1. Get moving! Stop putting things off
The Excuse, I don't have the time. Yes, you do we are all given the same amount of time a 24 hour day. You have to make time. It doesn't have to be an hour, it doesn't have to 30 minutes. But spend your time wisely.
2. It's TOO Hard! Yea writing is hard, it takes a lot of time and patience. It can be challenging but if we follow through, there are majors rewards, benefits, and blessings in the end.
3. I can't! Uh yes you can! You can DO ALL things through Christ who STRENGTHENS YOU!
4. Another Excuse, I'm too tired. Now there are times when we are tired and we shouldn't write when we are because you may mess up what you write on accident. (This I've done and have had to 'FIX' it)

But if this becomes an excuse then it is procrastination and being un disciplined.
I'm sure that their are many other excuses out there, be on the watch for them constantly if you don't you just mind find yourself in a sticky gooey situation.
****An EXCUSE IS A REASON STUFFED WITH A LIE****
This really spoke to me. If we are to fight the enemy we cant, especially through our writing if we are lazy, irresponsible, or full of excuses.
I feel like I cheat God when I have excuses, when I'm not diligently working, and since I have asked for forgiveness and worked hard in this area, that bubbling glob has released itself from me. Another thing is that what you speak you become. If you continually make excuses, that's what people will know to expect from you.
The more excuses, procrastination, etc... you do, can prevent you from enjoying the blessings you have, the blessing of being gifted in anything, in art, in writing, in your family, in your friends, etc.... When you say excuses, you are choosing to let it rule you. They grow bigger and bigger, to where it can consume you.
So let's defeat this evil

thing!
Love and blessings
