Post subject:  No more Excuses!

My friends, brothers and sisters, I have recently been told something revealed to me through my devotions. Its an ugly thing and can easily destroy what we are trying to do. It falls in line with the dragon procrastination. This thing is a devious thing lurking around in our lives, not just in our everyday life but in our writing life as well. What is it? Excuses! This black blob of goo seeps in covering our time and opportunities to write.
:(
And its high time we defeat this thing once and for all. Here is how.
1. Get moving! Stop putting things off
The Excuse, I don't have the time. Yes, you do we are all given the same amount of time a 24 hour day. You have to make time. It doesn't have to be an hour, it doesn't have to 30 minutes. But spend your time wisely.
2. It's TOO Hard! Yea writing is hard, it takes a lot of time and patience. It can be challenging but if we follow through, there are majors rewards, benefits, and blessings in the end.
3. I can't! Uh yes you can! You can DO ALL things through Christ who STRENGTHENS YOU!
4. Another Excuse, I'm too tired. Now there are times when we are tired and we shouldn't write when we are because you may mess up what you write on accident. (This I've done and have had to 'FIX' it) But if this becomes an excuse then it is procrastination and being un disciplined.

I'm sure that their are many other excuses out there, be on the watch for them constantly if you don't you just mind find yourself in a sticky gooey situation.

****An EXCUSE IS A REASON STUFFED WITH A LIE****

This really spoke to me. If we are to fight the enemy we cant, especially through our writing if we are lazy, irresponsible, or full of excuses.

I feel like I cheat God when I have excuses, when I'm not diligently working, and since I have asked for forgiveness and worked hard in this area, that bubbling glob has released itself from me. Another thing is that what you speak you become. If you continually make excuses, that's what people will know to expect from you.
The more excuses, procrastination, etc... you do, can prevent you from enjoying the blessings you have, the blessing of being gifted in anything, in art, in writing, in your family, in your friends, etc.... When you say excuses, you are choosing to let it rule you. They grow bigger and bigger, to where it can consume you.

So let's defeat this evil  thing!

Love and blessings
:D

Same here I typed like ohhh i dunno like 2,000-5,000 words (whatever six computer pages amounts to) :D My story is coming along pretty well. I should be well hoping to be finished with the rough draft by the end of the month. I think i will. Im experiencing that things just happen to flow through my hands mind and keyboard, changing the details of the story :0 ...Its hard to explain. But lets put it this way, I am writing stuff that i had NO intentions of writing! But the more i go along, its making the story for fantasy like, and more interesting! SO its a good thing!

I will probably post another excerpt from it, I admit this may sound weird....but i got a little emotional writing what was in my head. (In the story i probably need to be a little bit more detailed more descriptive). And the scene i just finished yesterday, I was trying so hard to not cry and get sick from it. But in that from an emotional scene, to a sickening scene, to a awesome scene....Wow...This last scene, one of my characters recieved a powerful magic sword with the word engraved in it...DELIVERER...!!!! :dieshappy: So I am DEFINITLY HAPPY the way this is all playing out!!!!

I absolutely love when that happens. My NaNo novel did that to me D:

Ive never written christian fantasy before so this is my first ;) I love Narnia! (although the second movie of the series i think was a little dry compared to the first and the third.) I like fantasy, dragons etc... So my writers group at church urged me to take the plunge! My pastor told me she could see me write a Christian Fantasy. :) I had to give it a shot. :dieshappy:

Very true....you never stop learning, the day you stop is the day you return to the kingdom above. ;)
