Hey holy world citizens, I have run across something that I am sure most of you have. When I talk about my book, my world, my dragons, etc... mainly my interest in medieval, Christian fantasy, and dragons. I get these weird looks from people. I'm learning how to handle it. But then I realize that a person who is gifted in the area of writing has to BE! With the demands of the writing world, we have to be gifted with organization, plots, time, detail, creativity, and we have to stay INSPIRED! That is very very VERY important, especially. To me when I look at a dragon, it reminds me of God's goodness in my story. And I wouldn't be who I am or where I am without him. People who give us weird looks, just don't understand is all. But that is our job. To help them understand, to hide God's truth in compelling and creative and exhilarating stories. Remember this the next time someone gives you a weird look. Love and Blessings |

In answer to the title question, I like to flatter myself and think I'm both. |

I'm lucky to be surrounded by a family who loves writing, so they all understand me when I run wild with my imagination. It's hard with people outside though, I now what you mean. |

The name of this thread just resonates the fact that I can always find like-minded people here. I guess you guys know the loneliness, and on HW, it's not there. |

my typical response in these situations is to remind people I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it simply because sanity is the playground of the unimaginative |

Um... I'm pretty sure I'm just flat out weird. But I have found a way to make people enjoy my weirdness. Therefore, the weird looks I get are often accompanied with a smile, which is very enjoyable for me. |

People say I'm gifted... cuz I write instrumental music as well as write stories. Not many people have read what I've written yet, but I'm excited about my stories still and I like that. My favorite author, Jeffrey Overstreet, says that no matter what age you are, when you work at your passion, you should be "playing" and not working. Because art can come about when we "play". And I really like that way of thinking about it. |
