What are your New Years Resolutions (writing or otherwise)?

Some of mine are:

1. Spend more time in my bible. I feel like I've neglected reading it somewhat during the past couple of months, so I plan to read more of it. Not that I need to make a New Years resolution for that, but anyhow!

2. Read more. I have recently been given a lot of crime novels by a dear friend whose husband passed away. So I plan to start working though those. and try to read some every night before I go to sleep.

3. Write more. I work two part time jobs now, and I don't have as much time to write as I'd like to. But I plan to try to set aside at least an hour a day, even if I don't feel like it after work, to write. It won't matter how much I actually get to write in that hour as long as I'm setting my mind to it and trying to write. I'll be making some progress at least.

4. I would like to do some more outdoor activities, other than dog walking. Possibly Cycling, running and etc.

5. Continue growing my hair! It drives me mad sometimes (it feels like it's still somewhat in-between lengths), but I'm hoping to grow it Long again! I will not give into the awful temptation to have done with it, and cut it all off again. :D

1. Spend less time on the computer and more time with my family.

2. Spend more time reading my Bible.

3. Spend more time writing.

4. Finish at least one of the novels I have drifting around.

5. Have a long, heart-to-heart talk to my mom about things I should have talked to her about a long time ago.

6. Get a job.

7. Meet up with at least one of my online friends, either again or for the first time.

8. Pay off the money I owe my mom.

And one other resolution would be to graduate high school, but currently that's up in the air as my mom is considering taking a different course of action.

It's a lot of resolutions, but maybe it'll help me knock myself into reality. :P

A couple New Year's resolutions for me are:

1: Spend more time reading. Lately, my reading has been next to nil, and as I have a ton of good books just sitting there gathering dust, I intend to change that.

2: Spend a little less time writing so I can focus on getting other work done.

I haven't made a New Year resolution in several years, actually. I stopped because I knew I would never keep them, and I might as well not take the effort to make them, but also because I switched to a different 'tradition'. The idea was this - rather than make resolutions, I would ask God to make that year a year of learning. And that I would be willing to learn whatever He would teach me. I've done it for the past three years, and I can honestly say those are the first three years I've done anything more than stagnate in my faith. So that's my New Year thing. :)

This sounds workable. I hope you get a lot of good writing in! :)

That's a good decision when it is necessary. :salute:

* thoughtful * I think I did something rather like this last year.... It's a good thing. I think Fledge was right when he said 'I have a feeling he likes to be asked', or something of the sort. You know, about Aslan. Sometimes we just need to ask him, really ask him, to teach us... and if we are willing, he will.

I don't really have many but here's my small list.

1. Spend more time with God.

2. Finish the feature length film I've been working on.

3. Write a lot more.

4. Slow down, unfortunately the older I get the busier I get.

Praying Princess!
