There are moments in a person's life when the unseen is inspiration for growth, challenge, and encouragement. I cannot see any of you, but, I am honored to have found and joined your Holy Worlds. I am honored to be in the midst of brothers and sisters scattering this earth, all to create and joy in God's gifts, with the motive of forming those gifts, forging, if you will, to be swords to cut to the soul and bring life and heart change. I have been wandering the realm and am bewildered by how many corridors and passages to which each room leads. But... that will not deter me from peeking in and participating when I can. I hope that we can be friends, partners, co-operators in this world, to use what God has given us for good, to fight the good fight, to battle against the evil one. Around every corner, I keep discovering new jewels of gladness. I cannot quite impart to you how important this is to me. Thank you for allowing me to join in. May my computer always hold out, and life allow me to become part of Holy Worlds in the learning, sharing, uplifting, and creating... Do all you do as unto the Lord and not to men." (Colossians 3) To God be the glory!! Lady Camilla Uphaven (Celita) (ps... I am a wife for the last 14 years, and momma of 5 kids ages 5 1/2 to 12 1/2. I love music and singing, brainstorming and writing (poetry, stories, personal journaling, blogging), papercutting, making cards, and reading. I love paper, glue, scissors, and paper punches. I understand cats, and hear the music of the birds to my soul's depths. My favorite colors are sunsets and rainbows and just about anything in between. Laughing is my link to hope and sanity, and if you ever need ideas for names, I LOVE to help that way. Please be patient with me as I have been out of the writing loop for quite a while due to life just being that way, and I know that I have much to learn, on my own and by watching you. Thank you for making Holy Worlds possible! God bless!) (ps.... again... Have you ever seen the musical portrayal of the Resurrection called "The Power of His Love"? That's where I got the name Camilla. I performed her a long time ago, and it was one of those moments that called out deep dreams and made me ache for more such amazing and soul-touching experiences. "Uphaven" stands only for the fact that when I look UP that is where I find my safety, my peace, my hiding place, my haven- in God alone.) |

Welcome to Holy Worlds! It's good to see you on the forum, and I like the name you chose. Who are your favorite authors? |

My favorite authors... hahahahahah... well, I am of the eclective type; with favorites in genres such as romance/comedy/historical/western/fantasy/children's. I love oldies like George MacDonald (Phantastes opened my heart to fantasy, and his children's books were favorites), Lousia May Alcott, Gene stratton Porter... I lean towards Christian authors as that was what I was allowed to read growing up. Now, I don't know much outside of that realm, just bits and pieces. I like Hamlet, but not Romeo and Juliet. I am a romantic with a picky, quirky side. hahahah... I like Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters (some) I read Mirriam Neal's Monster and loved it. I am itching to get my hands on RJ Larsen's King, Prophet and Judge... I have been out of commission for quite a while, and am just learning about all I have missed in the areas of music, books, and art... It's a whole new, overwhelming and amazing world. I am taking it easy, though, as who has the funds to get EVERYTHING that catches their eye. One thing at a time. Oh, Amanda Bradburn wrote a book about a child version of Robin Hood that I would love to read, too. As far as fantasy goes, I am learning so much about how much is available. I am taking baby steps to really see what I like and want to include in my life. we have lived in Italy for 10 years, and accessibility to products has been more limited due to various reasons. Our computer access is slow (we still have dial-up. are you old enough to remember dial-up? sigh...) and our cells have wifi but are small screens and limited. so.. Not to mention that Italian is NOT my favorite language in which to read, so I wait to see what I can get my hands on in English. (I am American, by the way.) You did not merit that rant. Sorry for that, but... I am nervous and excited to meet you all! hahahahahahahahhahaha.... Lady Camilla Uphaven |

Welcome to Holy Worlds, Camilla! Lady Camilla Uphaven wrote: I like Jane Austen, the Bronte sisters (some) Pretty much like me then. Do you have a blog? Ooh! Names! I'm trying to think up a name for the dark race of mermaids I have in my book, but I'm not coming up with anything at the moment. They are Mermaids, but have been taken by the Dwarf who is into dark magic, and he has created a new race of evil Mermaids, but they can't be called Mermaids. I want something that says their essence in the name, something that he will have named them when he created them. But I just am not coming up with anything at the moment! Any thoughts? I love your name, it's really beautiful! I am so glad you joined Holy Worlds, and am looking forward to getting to know you! |

Lady Camilla Uphaven wrote: I love oldies like George MacDonald (Phantastes opened my heart to fantasy, and his children's books were favorites) He's one of my favorite authors as well. I have read all of his books several times. Have you read his fantasy 'At the back of the North Wind'? Lady Camilla Uphaven wrote: I like Hamlet, but not Romeo and Juliet. I didn't particularly like Romeo and Juliet either.... What were your reasons for not liking it?

Welcome to HW Lady Camilla! Quote: I am taking it easy, though, as who has the funds to get EVERYTHING that catches their eye. Know how that is--though I've not had to live in another country to find out...That's why I love libraries so much, especially the big generous ones that will buy books for their collection when you ask them to. Quote: As far as fantasy goes, I am learning so much about how much is available. I'm not sure what's up in the threads right now, but find your way over to The Watchtower and check out some of the titles talked about in there, if you like. Anyway, again welcome Camilla! I'm looking forward to seeing you around the forums and of course ask around with the other members if you feel lost. HW is a big, wonderful place, but it overwhelms me sometimes. XD |

Yes it does. When I was little I thought that dialing up actually made the computer make the noise, rather than it being a sound effect. |
