So, is anyone going to the writers conference being held in St. Louis Mo? I know E, Celestria, and myself are going (and have filled out our registration papers to hopefully room together), but I was curious if anyone else was.

Unfortunately I found out about Realm Makers--which looks absolutely fabulous and I'm astonished people aren't jumping all over this thread--too late to have the fee required,  but my sister and one of our mutual friends are both planning on going, so I'll get a report back from them and they had better have it again next year because I plan on attending!  (The guest/speaker list for the event is amazing, and one of my favorites, Kathy Tyres, will be there, among a lot of other big names in Spec Christian Fiction.) |

I definitely won't be going ((1) too far away, (2) I'm too late, and (3) too expensive (i.e. more than a buck) ), but what exactly is Realm Makers?

Realm Makers is pretty much a one-of-a-kind Christian Speculative conference for writers. From what I saw advertized, there will be speakers and sessions and the works. |

What is Realm Makers? There's lots of info on the site...and I thought we had it typed up somewhere in here. I think there's a double thread running around. Anyway, the RM conference is (in my friend's words: "It's for crazy people like ME!" or, it was quite simply "Very very." Whatever that means. XD) A professional, yet informal way to get in touch with publishers, and editors. Featuring authors of Christian speculative books, and having several seminars on a variation of subjects. (last time they had a people group up and do some sword fighting techniques to get them right when writing them into the story, that sort of thing.) Authors will do book-signings. Tosca Lee is the big name this year, along with some others. I think L. B. Graham will be there again. Again, check the site for this.) I think it's a two-day event, and this one is in PA. Cost--which is pretty high, but well worth it--includes two meals for each day, possibly three. This time it's May 30-31 2014. Does that help? |

I didn't know that such a thing even existed! I SOOOOOO WISH I COULD GO! I only knew about the conference in Indianapolis last year just by chance of running across it on the internet. Otherwise I don't hear of these things, so posting them on here is a MOST EXCELLENT idea!!!  I am looking forward to the day I can go though. I am wanting to look into some of Tosca Lee's books, Isacariot, sounds amazing! |
