| Hey all, I'm Katie (Kate), besties with Jessie Quill, and totally stoked to join HW! I love Jesus, writing, the ocean, making coffee, drinking coffee, stargazing, and drinking coffee while I stargaze and write. I write mostly realistic fiction, but also some fantasy and, of course, humorous short-stories and poems. (Which, often times, make little to no sense whatsoever.) So, yeah. Hello awesome peoples! Love, love, -Kate | |

Just watch out for me; I can weird people out more often than they think. Behind this normal-looking screen is a padded cell in Happydale Sanitarium... with trampoline walls... XD Anyway. Do you have any favorite singers/bands?

| Thank you all ever so for the warm welcome! Jonathan- Thanks! My favorite authors are probably C.S. Lewis, Martin Luther, and for fiction, probably Wendelin Van Draanen. How about you? Renna the Blue Mimetes- Bahahaha, thank you! I'm pretty insane myself, so I guess I'll fit right in thankfully. My favorite bands are def Benjamin Dunn and the Animal Orchestra, For King and Country & Owl City. Yours? Lycanis Mimetes- Thank you! Yes, I must agree. Jessie rocks. Eh, I've been writing since I was, like, nine or something like that. My latest book is a realistic fic (a humorous one about a geeky homeschooler going to Hawaii to spend the summer with his aunt.) It never sounds all that interesting when I describe it, but in reality it's pretty funny, even if I do say so myself. How about you? Ophelia MirZA Mimetes- Thank you! I'm totally stoked to be joining. ^.^ Good to meet you. Idril Aravis Mimetes- Thanks!! Oh, I couldn't agree more. A huge mug of super black coffee + writing = this girl? Very happy. Hmm, favorite books.. most of my favorites are, like, little kids books. >.< They get the best stuff. But I recently read Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen, and that's totally one of my faves now. You? Lieutenant Mopa- Thanks so much! And thank you JessieGirl, for welcoming me- I'm so happy I could burst too. ^^ -Kate | |

Tenth Avenue North, Ashes Remain, Mumford & Sons, Bryan Adams, Celtic Thunder, JJ Heller, movie soundtracks, Owl City, Three Days Grace, Superchick, Enya, Calling Glory, The Piano Guys... the list goes on. And on, and on, and on... XD

It never sounds all that interesting when I describe it, but in reality it's pretty funny, even if I do say so myself. How about you? Nice. Haha, I know what you mean--even if I have what I consider to be an interesting story planned out, it won't sound very awesome when I try to explain it..and having a story set in the real world makes it harder. It sounds awesome though, and I can see it being funny. Wellll...I have two: one is a very messy first draft, while the other is something I haven't written yet, but am developing. The one I've written: "When a frightened girl escapes from an abusive orphanage and discovers she is in possession of strange abilities, she must quickly choose her side in a brewing war before those who would take advantage of her abnormal powers do so for her." (sounds purty cliche right now ). The one I'm developing is about a girl in a wealthy family who has to stand up for the freedom of the common people, and gets ruined in the process.

Hurrah for coffee lovers! *high-fives* Kids books are so much fun! We've got several at home, and while I do enjoy reading novels, there are days when I just want to pull out one of those books I read and loved as a kid. Hmmm, I haven't heard of Wendelin Van Draanen yet. My favorite books are mainly from the historical fiction genre, and some from the fantasy genre, like Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia.

| Thanks so much everybody, for your overwhelming awesomeness! It blew me right out of my socks. Renna the Blue Mimetes - I lovvve Bryan Adams! I, like, grew up listening to his music. Crazy awesome voice. & Thanks for the heads up...should I laugh or cry? xD Lycanis Mimetes - Your writing sounds totally awesome and interesting. It can be kind of tricky, I suppose, to do realistic fic...but then it can also be all the more amusing at times. Jonathan Garner - I like a LOT of books. So it's hard to pick just a few.. but as for little kids books, pretty much anything I read throughout my childhood. Boxcar Children, Ramona and Beezus, anything like that. Idril Aravis Mimetes - *high fives* Same here. And I agree- Narnia is awesomeness all the way. <3 Vivace Kondrael - Thanks! Oh, man...tough question. Starbucks, Peets (Major Dickason's blend), gevalia. Anything super dark/super strong. Coffee fan too? Much love to you all!! <3 -Kate | |

| Hello! I definitely read all of those as a kid. Boxcar Children were favourites, for sure. I can actually still recite those first lines that were on the back of all the books. Encyclopedia Brown was good, but then I ran out of books in my library. Ramona I loved too. I read a lot of historical fiction as a child. Did you read the Laura Ingalls Wilder series or anything of a similar nature? I read all of those, and Anne of Green Gables, and most of the Dear Canada series. If you liked mysteries, did you read Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys? | |

| Aldara - I LOVE NANCY DREW AND THE HARDY BOYS. Oh my goodness. Have you played the Nancy drew computer games? Gosh, I've written alternate endings for those for years. Love them. & Yes! I love the Laura Ingalls books! My Mom, sister and I used to read them (and still read them) all the time. Love those books. Brendan- YES. *highfives* I'm an east coastie to the bone.
