Fellows,

Regrettably, Pavalini is not my real name. Others may know me by my pen-name, Edward Inkling, but that's not my real name either. Little I can imagine is more enjoyable than coming to a forum such as this and reading a bunch of fantastical saps - why else would I call you "fellows"?

I've been writing the same book since I was ten year's old. Regrettably, I only got as a far as a few cool words and a neat pen-name. Otherwise, I have little to show for the past decade. The funny thing is I don't even read fantasy, and science fiction, which I like less, I read more because it's usually better. There's Lewis, there's Tolkien, maybe a few oddities like Sanderson, but if you had a list of books I've read over the years, the amount invested in fantasy would be fantastically petite. Hopefully the faithful writers on this forum can change that for me.

Desiderio Domini,
Pavalini
aka Edward Inkling

PS. I never liked my real name, really. I'm not named after anyone historic, or even a family member - my parents (or should I say mother...the whole thing was her idea) just happened to like the name. If you ever hear it, you'll soon forget it because it's neither special or strange. There will be no reason to remember it whatsoever. However, Edward happens to be my middle name, and it suits me better.

Hi Palavini!
I love your name, it's very magical sounding and tons of fun to type. :D

I know what you mean by the minimal amount of really good fantasy and sci-fi books out there, other than LoTR and Narnia, I haven't really read anything up that alley. Hopefully we can all change that. We're glad to have you with us! :)

My username is not my real name, rarely it is for others. I do not have a pen name; I have not thought of doing that.
Not all people have interesting names, or historical names or special ones; my name is Noah! That is not historical... wait... Noah... in the Bible. And the ark, never mind. :?

Welcome to Holy Worlds!

Most of the people on here do not use their real names, I use my main character's name. :)

Pavalini,

I have the same thing with my name. It has no history or family in it. My dad's friend had a friend with a daughter with a unique name and my dad liked it. When Mom had me they decided on that name. I have never met another person with my name, but I've come across it on the internet if I do a search for it. Most people don't pronounce it correctly anyways so I have lots of nicknames due to mispronunciation. Calenmiriel is the Elvish form of Jade which is my common mispronunciation. :P

You should learn to love your name! It's not a boring name! I haven't met many Blakes before. I only knew one. ^^

What is the correct pronunciation of your birth name, Calenmiriel?

And if you now know Pavalini, don't you know TWO Blakes? :D (I love the introductions forum...)

Wow, Namor, what's the matter? No songs to sing? Sing a smiley song. Write a smiley story. If you check the chat room you'll see that they're popular now. :D

Zhade? As in, Scheherazade? Wait, not h in that. But it might in some spellings! and I'm sure it's Arabic! That's really, really, really cool.

(Yes, I had to google that to get it spelled right. As much as I love the Arabian Nights I cannot spell any of those Arabian Names.)

Actually, my friend's mom had wondered the same thing, about Scheherazade anyways. ^^ I'm not really sure. The weird thing is, I looked it up online and it may possibly be Jamaican and mean "Princess of the African Violet." I am not racist, but I think it'd be weird having a Jamaican name with me being completely Caucasian. 0.o;;

I'm not sure why it says terrible...

The translation is Zhade is an awesome name. But the Italian, roughly translated is: Zhade e nome terrible, would be Zhade is name terrible. Zhade is a terrible name. Which would be about opposite to what it originally meant. :D This could be one of two reasons. Either there's a negative in there no one has caught, (Zhade is not a terrible name) but that's passive, whereas the original is active so that's unlikely, or Terrible is like awesome, and in another language it's actually means the same thing. Full of wonder. Third solution is somebody's translation machine. But I'm voting for the second one. :)

Terrible wasn't always a bad/negative word. It could mean something so great that you're amazed. Or something like that. Anyways, maybe Babel Fish was off. I'm going for option three. :D (When I translate stuff, it's into languages I'm supposed to speak...so I can't blame anyone but myself for mistakes!)
