Post subject:  With Your Permission (because HW is awesome)
So Arien and I are now in possession of a computer program called RPG Maker VX Ace. This allows us to create computer role-playing games, and we'd like to make one based on Holy Worlds.

Only we can't really do it without your help. For one thing, we're not willing to create characters based off of all you amazing people without permission, even if those characters only have one line. For another, we all know there's a ton of creativity here and we'd like to tap into some of that.

So we're basically asking for permission to use your username and create a character based off you; ideas for quests; ideas for bad guys to fight; and any other awesome and crazy ideas you might have.

Also, we need about four characters to be the "party" (the main characters). We're thinking it might work best to make up people for that instead of trying to choose four HWers, but in that case we might want names for those characters that aren't likely to end up as usernames (like Newbie or something) and ideas for that are also requested.

If it ends up not working out, we might shrink this whole plan down into a secret room in another game or drop it all together, but we're both pretty excited about trying this.

Soo...comments, questions, protestations? ;)

If my username were used as a character, I would prefer it be Riniel Jasmina and not Kitra if it's all the same. :)

You can use Suiauthon, Sui, Leprechaun King, The Leprechaun King, etc. ;) Just don't use 'Suicide' -- some people get angry if I am called 'Suicide'.

This sounds awesome! You can use "Loki", as long as he is a villain or a roguish sort of character.

Also, I have a moderate amount of playing and creating games myself. If you need any help, you know who to call. (What you don't know, is when I'll answer :? )

Feel free to use my name, just keep the Neil part, and give me a name like Neil the Librarian.

Now I'm imagining me as an NPC that wanders about some area randomly spouting off meaningless facts as players run by: "Avoid Hugely Wuthering Creepy Snakes, my son, for they will eat your soul," and "the odds of surviving an asteroid field are approximately...". On the other hand, you could make me an annoying quest giver: "There's this piece of information I really want to know on micro-dyson spheres, my lad, but I'm to lazy to look it up, so you'll need to find the Hugely Wuthering Creepy Snake, kill it, and find a copy of the information somewhere in its corpse."

Sounds like a great idea to me. I'd love to play it. And test play it for you. (I must warn you though I'ma terrible RPG snob.)

I'd be fine with you using my username, that is to say "The bard" username.

I don't think Loki is a copyrighted name; yes, he is the villain in those two movies, but he's been the god of mischief long before superhero stories came about. *shrug*

Anyhow, you can use my username/personality, but you should probably change it to "Amanda the Artist" or something, because my sister is the one who came up with the whole Kondrael thing. :D

Ideas for bad guys... well, there's always the villains in the hundreds of stories floating around here, if anyone wants to donate villains to you. I definitely suggest having Ogre be one of the villains. **nodnod** ;)

Oooh...On second thought...My username is (Well, the first part) a combination of two characters in a MLP Marcher Lord Press, not My Little Pony :P book series, so that MAY cause future copyright problems...Ooh, you can call mine "Belec Giraffe Virgil" (<-- Combo of some of my nicknames)

Also feel free to use the only character I've made up on here Thanguis. Although, you may want to change his name. I don't really like it. I just made him up last week, so I could still change things about him to make him fit in with the game.

Also, I really love making up bad guys, so if there is ever any brainstorming about bad guys, then let me in on it. I also love making up really cool building and city ideas, so also let me know about that. I'm not going to draw anything for you (I'm a horrible artist in that respect), but I can envision every detail of a city if you want ideas.

Yes, Loki is the legendary Norse god of Mischief, and has been around for a very, very, long time.

But if you're not comfortable with using an existing name, go ahead and use "Phillip" because that's a cool name and it also belongs to me.

Yeah, you can use my username for a character. You can probably make a decent character from my username, and since it's Spanish for 'male' there should be no copyright or trademark concerns.

I'd be willing to help, if I can. I know nothing about coding or anything related to the technical stuff. I can help with artistic design (because a game is incomplete without art and pixely stuff :dieshappy: ) The most I can do is create simple non-animated sprites. I might as well get the practice. But I'll have more time to help during summer. But I think it'll be fine, seeing as how long it takes to make an rpg-game (which is why I never bothered to try. xD). I am also a very beginnier spriter, but I can promise I will try to help.

You could always have cool murals on the walls of castles and stuff. Or make various coats of arms or whatever.
