| I hope it's ok to start a new thread. I didn't see anywhere obvious to introduce myself... Well, I'm here anyway. I am truly sorry for any typos/lack of apostrophes in my posts; I have got a new tablet and I'm still trying to figure it out! Well, I'm new to this writing thing - as an adult anyway. I wrote little stories all the time as a child and was constantly off in my own imaginary worlds (yeah, only child). Anyway, marriage at 18 to the love of my life and two beautiful girls later, I feel like I have a story in me still. I'm inspired by hearing my children play and listening to the stories they weave into life around them. I'm also spurred on every time I remember the stories of Narnia and E. Nesbit, and, of course, being in New Zealand, I am surrounded by constant Hobbit references. Most of all though, it is my Lord and Saviour who inspires me to write a tale that is not of this world. I chose my name because Firieth means "mortal", or "mortal woman" - a way of reminding myself that this is not my home, and Mimetes because I love the follower meaning, and the way that you are supporting your brother in jail. Thanks for reading! | |

| Welcome, Firieth! I love your name! It's great to see you here! *jaw drops* You are in New Zealand? That's so awesome! I was just looking at pictures of some of the landscapes and plotting a visit in my head. On New Zealand Air, no less, so that there's that LOTR safety video. | |

I must admit, I assumed I was the lone kiwi adrift in a sea of Americans. Is that not the case?? Idril Aravis Mimetes wrote: *jaw drops* You are in New Zealand? That's so awesome! And yes, everyone should visit. New Zealand has absolutely epic landscapes. The South Island is a little more picturesque, I believe. I flew over from the homeland (UK) a few years ago - nearly 10 actually, crikey that makes me feel old - and landed on the North, and currently reside in the beautiful Bay of Islands. It is gorgeous here. | |

Firieth Mimetes wrote: I am truly sorry for any typos/lack of apostrophes in my posts; I have got a new tablet and I'm still trying to figure it out! *grins* I just got a new tablet too, so I know your pain. What kind do you have? =D That's neat that you wrote stories as a child, I don't think I did that, though I too was an only child for the first ten years of my life. I'm very much a dreamer and didn't spend a whole lot of time in reality (wait a minute..."don't" is probably more accurate, I still don't spend much time in reality). It's especially awesome that you are returning to the art! And I love how you are inspired by your children, that's awesome. =) And of course our mutual Saviour, He is the reason all of us here at HW write, you'll fit in well. How much have you written since you started again? You write fantasy? Do you like to worldbuild? *sees that he is burying his victim with questions* Oops, sorry. *dumps a bunch of welcoming confetti on top to completely bury his victim* Anyway, welcome, I'm always happy to see another member here, and I hope you are blessed by your interactions here as you strive to serve our God with your pen.
